When I see a thread containing a superhero name I move on to something else.

I only responded to THIS thread (mentioning the hulk) because of the interesting way the question was portrayed.

No one bothers to use the search function and add to an existing thread. They just think no one has ever started a thread about a watch as an investment before.

You see the same old same old over and over and over but I just don't open those redundant threads.

Yes, until I read this thread....

The hulk doesn't interest me so I don't click on those.

BLNR, I'll click but it it's anything to do with pricing/where to buy etc, I'll just close it and move on.

Who cares if people post threads of needing others opinions or asking something about discontinued watches. It’s just a forum! If you don’t like it move on. No need for people to cry about it. At the end of the day they are just watches and only watches. In the mean time just enjoy this forum! I certainly do! I love watches but not enough to get upset over a dumb thread. WHO CARES! Have a good day everyone!

Actually tuned out of most threads (99%?) on TRF and WUS Rolex forums. Most are repetitive topics.

Not a fault of anyone—I suspect it’s just the nature of discussion forums. Once you’ve been there a few weeks/months, you’ve kinda scraped and talked everything out.

A good thing really. Helps me stay in the moment IRL more. Enjoy the summer folks!

The BLNR and LV have definitely been two models in particular, along with others, that I constantly see all over Instagram recently with regards to Rolex-related content.

The other night I was out with a few friends. A friend of a friend who I had met that night noticed I was wearing my BLNR. He asked if it was a Batman -- as soon as I said yes he was like "dude, I don't know if you know this, but you could like make an easy $4 or $5 grand on that watch right now." I smiled, telling him I was aware of the current market price and that I'm not interested in selling it. This guy currently has a Speedmaster as his one nice watch (which is fine, no offense at all to the icon). Just to make some small talk I asked him what he likes and what he wants to add to his collection. He said he is a big Rolex fan and that his "grail" list includes: Blue SkyD, White DaytonaC, Sub LV, BLNR GMT and a YM II. Then went on complaining about supply and not being able to get any of these at retail (and of course he is saving the YM II for last; the one watch that can be purchased today).

It ended up being one of the worst "talking watches" conversations I've experienced. I only bring it up because as watches have become more trendy recently you go onto social media platforms like IG and everyone ends up looking at the short list of "status symbol" pieces deciding that's exactly what they want for their collection.

Have completely lost the itch for buying a new Rolex given the current situation.

I only check TRF to see if anyone is asking if they can swim with their Sub.

I see no such thing concerning all the professional models. I don´t own but a BLRO and a JC D Blue, but I read all threads concerning others. After all I buy only what I LOVE, but they are all very nice and coveted watches. If I could I would own one of each.

Most WIS have left the general Rolex thread, no current Rolex is worth 1$ over msrp. It’s all hype, makes me turned off to the brand. Omega makes a better diver for a fraction of the price, plus I find it funny that 95% of people that must have a sub or sd don’t dive and would never bring it in the ocean. It’s fashion jewelry

These days I wear my 1987 Sub 16803 99.9% of the time. Quite turned off by the hype. Have no desire to wear my SS professionals. Sure am glad I got into Rolex 30 years ago as I know that I would not be a player in the current climate.

I pretty much lost interest in the BLNR, BLRO, SkyD, 500C
I don't like begging someone to take my money.
Then get attitude and BS from SAs.

If I get lucky at an airport AD, great.
If not, I won't lose sleep, it's just another watch.

It's called FORUM for a reason. Everybody gets a say, but nobody has to read it.

It is a bit dull. The BLNR and LV are very good watches, but the the hype feels totally out of proportion to the watches themselves. Still plenty of decent threads here though.

I like them both but if forced to chose I would go BLNR.

Why not start a thread with a poll?

I can't get excited about the LV or the BLNR or BLRO. I rather see a 16710 or Daytona reveal.

Although they won't admit it, people who post a comment are looking for reactions and counter-comments. By the time you get to page three the interest level has dropped to near zero. Viewers will generally look through page one.

I don't plan on owning either so I normally skip these since most of the time it's about "how much you can sell" and complaints about not being able to get one at retail.

Incoming I do check.

The sad reality is that forums, social media and YouTube videos hyped up these watches so much and definitely played a role in creating the current situation. Most don’t really like these watches. They like the status and exclusivity due to the difficulty in obtaining them from ADs. That’s it.

Every time I look at chrono24 these watches cost a grand or more more than the last tome I checked. It’s even more ridiculous with the Royal Oaks and steel Pateks. Every time products have been hyped up this way the bubble pops and it pops hard. I am waiting patiently with cash in hand to buy everything I want as soon as that happens.
