Agreed. PP would be crazy to turn off the tap right now with no replacement in mind. I think the 5711 has a few years in it yet. It's a huge drawing card for the brand.

I think TS idea for the future is just to reduce the variants of the nautilus as he finds that there is too many and of course he doesn't like the hype on the SS watches with people not paying attention to what they want to sell primarily which is PM dress watches

You would have thought they would have made a WG 5711

I agree...highly unlikely the 5711 will be discontinued soon. At the very least there will be the 50th anniversary and then it may be due for a design change similar to how the 3711 transitioned to the current 5711.

Painfully reminds me of my hairdresser offering me a SS 3700 w certificate and cork box some years ago for EUR 36k. True story, no joke! Tried it on, liked it very much but was a little overwhelmed, and gone it was. He also had a second one that unfort had already been spoken for. When I got a blue 5711 as consolation prize he was the first trying to buy it.

That’s great, like Hermes known for Birkin, Patek will now known for Nautilus...oh wait, that doesn’t sound so great.

Funny thing is this was TS's concern even before the hype started, so now that everyone walks into their ADs and only asks for anything with naut in the name must make him want to jump off a cliff.

I agree. Furthermore even if there was a market crash, very few Patek collectors will be rushing to sell their collection because their 401(k) down. Compared to the submariner for example which will be flooded with watches during a market decline. For better or for worse in my opinion the nautilus craze is here to stay.
