I was checking in with my AD today and he mentioned the same. DJ41 are now allocated by Rolex.

I grabbed a DJ36 (fluted, jubilee, stick marker, blue dial) just yesterday at my AD... and he had two DJ41’s in the display. Both two tone, and one with the smooth bezel.
He also confirmed that the DJ41 is now an allocation only model, and he can no longer request a specific variation for customers. I’m on the fence... i think 38mm would be the golden ratio for me... the 40 fits, but the 36 looked better on me... and i was caught up in the moment or something. I think the blue dial is the best of them, and I didn’t want to fly home without it, call back to find it had sold, and then regret it. ETA:... I just realized I meandered into a random tangent. I’m going to blame the heavily poured woodford the attendant has been kind to provide me on this flight.

Rolex didn't like hearing everyone say Datejust 41's in SS were too attainable so that problem is now fixed. A lot of us knew this was coming, typical of Rolex. This will continue until the AD's have beautiful empty shop-fittings filled with nothing but air.

OK, here is a picture from this afternoon, one of the top right is blue baton but the light makes it look black.
Went to a second AD, same thing but no blue. Again, what gives? |

I strolled by one of the Toronto ADs today and popped in to see what they had in the case. Had a quick chat with the SA I bought my OP39 from a couple months back.
In terms of SS - it was business as usual. There was one Milgauss and one grape OP39. They did have a Bluesy sub sitting out, which kinda surprised me. What was really noteworthy though was how limited the DJ stock was. The shelves were very bare. We chatted briefly about the second hand value of some pieces and then I said have a great day. crazy times indeed. |

This might be a stupid question but, my AD said she was able to order me a DJ41 but I keep reading that they’re only allocated now. If she was indeed able to order it before it turned to allocation, does that mean it’ll come faster or? I understand that might be a really stupid question haha

Buy some jewelry and diamonds and the DJ41 will mysteriously appear in the back of the store...
Everyday a new "fairy tale" from ADs... |

It's sad to go into a store now.
Wouldn't be surprised to see a tumbleweed roll across the case next visit. Then hear this as the sales associate and I lock eyes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFa1-kciCb4 |

That’s not true. Just misleading you and looking for an explanation why they may not satisfy what you asked them for. Nowadays SS are reserved for flippers and those that spend big money on PM pieces.

You could be right Google ""recession fears gold price" Something is happening in the background. Cracks are appearing in the world stock market.Hong Kong is riotous 10 weeks ago gold was £10.50 a gram at the local scrap jewellers. It's now £13.80. If we have another recession then stock will be back in the windows . As luxury items are hit first |

I actually sold my gold since the uptick and planning to get some more watches. Gold was just sitting in the safe and forgot about it. Watch market seems hotter than the gold market now.
