the old watch is in fact discontinued. you cannot, unless an AD has one in stock (ha) purchase a 116710blnr from an AD. it is possible to swap bracelets, certainly, but simply replacing a jubilee bracelet with an oyster (and swapping the spring bars) does not by any measure “undiscontinue” the previous reference. like many here i agree that the 116710 is in the ionosphere, and that pricing will most likely normalize over the next few months or over the next year, but i certainly don’t think they’ll tank.

It reminds me of the Kermit back in the day. Prices likely to level off, or drop slightly shorter term - after a meteoric rise recently. But then longer term, as they become more and more scarce they will start a long steady ascent. |

If I was a betting man this is what I would put my money on:
No one is buying watches now pre-owned as it is summer. Prices will be the same or drop slightly up to End of September, but in October will creep back to where they were and November - December prices will rise £1k above the previous high point. After Christmas I couldn’t say, flat or higher leading towards BW. One thing is for sure, existing BLNR jubilee will NOT become easier to get. That is wishful thinking if I’ve ever heard it. |

if you really love the watch, why are you splitting hairs about a relatively small percentage rise or drop? stressing yourself out and being rude to people because you didn’t buy the watch when you could find it at retail, then complaining about trying to wait to get it cheaper isn’t going to find you many supporters here.
according to screenshots above posted by johnjm, you don’t understand the rolex secondhand market whatsoever.

MSRP for jubilee or just a bit extra for oyster!
Current prices are just crazy . After all, it is a watch and a hobby and you could all your life without the watch. prices will certainly crash or at least normalize once the next big thing is out there |

Sounds like you don’t have much of a choice ... I wouldn’t stretch yourself financially for a watch , and you don’t have control over the maket a year from now. I would just keep saving and if you are priced out in another year then come up w a Plan B- is jubilee blnr at msrp, different watch, etc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Why is everyone so mad that I think the old BLNR will drop in price? It’s not discontinued like the black gmt which is actually discontinued it’s been replaced by a newer model so I was just thinking a newer model means the older model drops in price. When I wanted it before jubilee came out they were about 14k and now the 11k. I don’t get why everyone is stressed. I thought this was an open forum where opinions can be expressed.

i think people are “mad” because you’re being kind of rude. and blanket statements being used as fact is never good form.

Madman17 (Freudian slip) doesn't get it. He should be asking himself why 5 digit references aren't £400 on the same reasoning. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk

Can you share a link to one selling for 13-13.5k USD from a reputable source? Would be great to snag one at that price. Thanks.

Discontinued means no longer available from AD means no supply and higher demand means prices go up!
