I bought it new in 2014 for £5950 (as a keeper) before the craze started and was now just thinking of getting something a bit more under the radar, as I don't like the attention on the model in recent years.

I dont want to sell private, but there will be others like me about if you can find a genuine seller / watch. £11k would be a win/win.

My other issue is I don't know what I would replace it with. Rhodium YM would be my current choice, but after a while may regret it.
They offered me £11,000 for my 2018 model.

I’m pretty much in the same boat... bought mine for list in 2015 and probably gets 5% wrist time I have been toying with the idea of moving it on to part fund a TT Seadweller. I wouldn’t entertain trying to sell private and would only go through a dealer, I’ve had it in my head I’d do well to get £10k. My thinking is a bricks&mortar dealer would easily move it on for £12k in the current market.

This is not the first thread where you have started and posted crap to try influence the price of the BLNR that you don't have money for.

If you poured as much effort into your real work as you do into dribble like this maybe you could make things work out better for you.

i am utterly and completely uninterested in the 126710blnr. the 116710 is one of my favorite watches of all time, regardless of the smaller power reserve. a fair bit of cheek to assume such an asinine thing.

the old watch is in fact discontinued. you cannot, unless an AD has one in stock (ha) purchase a 116710blnr from an AD.

it is possible to swap bracelets, certainly, but simply replacing a jubilee bracelet with an oyster (and swapping the spring bars) does not by any measure “undiscontinue” the previous reference.

like many here i agree that the 116710 is in the ionosphere, and that pricing will most likely normalize over the next few months or over the next year, but i certainly don’t think they’ll tank.

I agree.

It reminds me of the Kermit back in the day.

Prices likely to level off, or drop slightly shorter term - after a meteoric rise recently.
But then longer term, as they become more and more scarce they will start a long steady ascent.

Spot on! why keep referring to a watch that you want as 'inferior'

Why would anyone want this anyway?? I should save myself the embarrassment and just throw it in the trash

If I was a betting man this is what I would put my money on:

No one is buying watches now pre-owned as it is summer. Prices will be the same or drop slightly up to End of September, but in October will creep back to where they were and November - December prices will rise £1k above the previous high point.

After Christmas I couldn’t say, flat or higher leading towards BW.

One thing is for sure, existing BLNR jubilee will NOT become easier to get. That is wishful thinking if I’ve ever heard it.

if you really love the watch, why are you splitting hairs about a relatively small percentage rise or drop? stressing yourself out and being rude to people because you didn’t buy the watch when you could find it at retail, then complaining about trying to wait to get it cheaper isn’t going to find you many supporters here.

according to screenshots above posted by johnjm, you don’t understand the rolex secondhand market whatsoever.

Have you actually read any of the comments on insta? Outside of this forum the opposite is true and oyster rules all 9/10 times

Personally I love both

Thankyou for speaking on behalf of the whole human race.
It's very public spirited of you.
You should consider becoming a politician.

It's not the truth......but thanks anyway.

MSRP for jubilee or just a bit extra for oyster!
Current prices are just crazy . After all, it is a watch and a hobby and you could all your life without the watch.
prices will certainly crash or at least normalize once the next big thing is out there

Sounds like you don’t have much of a choice ... I wouldn’t stretch yourself financially for a watch , and you don’t have control over the maket a year from now. I would just keep saving and if you are priced out in another year then come up w a Plan B- is jubilee blnr at msrp, different watch, etc

Why is everyone so mad that I think the old BLNR will drop in price? It’s not discontinued like the black gmt which is actually discontinued it’s been replaced by a newer model so I was just thinking a newer model means the older model drops in price. When I wanted it before jubilee came out they were about 14k and now the 11k. I don’t get why everyone is stressed. I thought this was an open forum where opinions can be expressed.

I’ve had a look on chrono24 and they appear to start at £12k rising upwards.
I don’t see a decrease but that’s just me.

It's just you are stating your thoughts as facts.

Chrono 24 116710 BLNR graph. Its showing the opposite of what you are stating.

at no point in the last two years have any steel rolex “dropped” in price. don’t be absurd. the idea of an older model becoming *much* cheaper in this market is hysterical. demand is through the roof for everything, and we are not discussing cars here, or refrigerators, or vuitton handbags.

i think people are “mad” because you’re being kind of rude. and blanket statements being used as fact is never good form.

And compare to the 126. It shoots up initially then drops to realistic values.

Madman17 (Freudian slip) doesn't get it. He should be asking himself why 5 digit references aren't £400 on the same reasoning.

Maybe better buy another brands watch you can afford! Talking down the prices/value isnt the successful strategy and you wont make many friends here either!

How's about a Panerai?! Big discounts there and missionary Paneristi!

Can you share a link to one selling for 13-13.5k USD from a reputable source? Would be great to snag one at that price. Thanks.

If i can recall clearly, the Blnr was a 2014 watch, serviced and polished and was going for somethng between 13k-14k USD. I dont have a link, i came across it like a month back. But a little search on the sale section, i came across this. Its a 2018 blnr. Btw im in no way affliated to this seller. Please do your own research if you decide to pull the trigger.

That’s not how it works!!
Discontinued means no longer available from AD means no supply and higher demand means prices go up!

Not according to the Rolex forum. Twice as many prefer the oyster; proof is in the pudding
