Really wished RubberB or Everest made a non-deployant rubber strap for the 42mm ExpII. I hate taking my bracelet apart for the clasp and purchasing a new clasp just makes the total cost ridiculous.

Have the 16570. Was super stoked when the 216570 came out. Then i saw the awful (mho) proportion of the hands. Bought a Sub instead. Never really use the gmt anyhow.

Ceramic bezel would be a bad move. Will look too much like the GMT. Especially the black one. It fits perfectly ‘as is’ in the line up.

Big fan. Just acquired the black to go with the polar. I suspect they will go the ceramic route :(

Somebody called it a poor man’s Daytona.

I don’t know how I really feel about that.

I would gladly take that poor man’s Daytona unless I have $25k laying around for the white dialed 116500 !

You could be on to something....They essentially just came up with a Yacht-Master III.

Hey at least you have yours! I'd really like to add the polar to my black 216570. Which one do you wear more often?

honestly, a ceramic bezel on the explorer is one of the dumbest things they can do, the watch is nigh indestructible, putting ceramic would make it easy to break. hopefully return to 40mm.

Honestly, I think it’s about perfect the way it is. Size is nice, dial pops in either color in its own way, movement is durable and reliable. Maybe they’ll update it eventually with the longer power reserve movement, but not really needed to make it better.

Just got the black. So wearing that at the moment. I suspect they will both get lots of wrist time.

Patiently (ahem) waiting for my 16570 to arrive. Getting the "Swiss Made" dial as well. Seeing yours Juho just made the wait a wee bit harder!

Not a fan of the new size, maxi dial, etc. - although the black dial looks better than the new polar. Ceramic bezel would be another misstep in my opinion.

Somewhere inside the Rolex corp, there is probably a design manifesto for each model, and this would be a consideration.

I would have to agree. The EXP ii is intended for outdoor/adventurer use.
While a ceramic bezel would make it nice aesthetically, ceramics materials “break before it bends”..
Meaning it will shatter once hit hard enough. Unlike steel which will only dent.

Most likely a 3285 mvmt. for 2021, same as the new Blnr/Blro. It's a one of a kind. Why change anything else?

I just tried one on in Black yesterday afternoon. It fit great and I love how it felt on the wrist as well. I asked the SA at the AD here in town if they could get a White dial version in; the SA seemed quite confident. Much more so than for a GMT Master II... So hopefully my graduation present to myself for the new job will be a White dial Explorer II around late November!

Update movement, keep design the same or small tweaks but scale it back to 40mm and ill flip my current ones. There is no need for 42mm imo.

I would settle just for a downsize, with maxi dial and orange hand....not much to ask for....but will never happen!

I for one would love to see a 41mm version with more balanced proportions, 72hr movement, definitely steel bezel. Wouldn't mind a 24h hand on black dial 50 year Ed.

Recently picked up my new polar.
Would like to see a new version with some variation, a blue face version would defiantly go down well and similar to the JC SD Rolex have started to look at dial variants on special ed’s

If they keep everything the same but gave it a black non-rotating ceramic bezel and made the dial 41 or 40mm, it may end up being my favorite watch of all time.

Pretty much sounds like a GMT Master II........
