My 5065 is one of my favs.
It’s hard to appreciate in photos how stunning the patina some develop on these dials.

Wear in best health!
Few shots of mine

I'd be lying if I didn't say your Instagram posts helped tip me toward pulling the trigger on an older aquanaut with vivid patina

Haha! Happy to enable.

Good job on getting a heck of an example and not just settling.
That one will get a ton of wrist time.
All I'd say is, don't underestimate a clean black rubber strap. Will look substantially better than the leather IMO. The khakhi is of course a stunning combo.
Enjoy it and wear in best health!

Thanks, yea khaki is the foreseeable setup for sure. Your last wrist pic in your previous post--is that a new black or the grey strap? I've noticed the original black strap I have is shinier and different than the new straps available for the 506x aquanauts. The texture of the new rubber is superior imo

Actually that one is neither, it’s blue-grey.
I went to the Henry stern watch agency in NY and they had so many options I got carried away.
Im not sure how yours looks but I’d definitely suggest a black rubber strap. Everything is fun, but black is classic!

Big congrats and excellent choice. I've always was a fan of the 5065 and I'm kicking myself for not picking one up when they were around $12K (for a decade...)

That was one of the ones I was contemplating in my search and was actually the first one I tried which really got the ball rolling from "I like them" to "I need to have one!"

As an aside they have an event on Thursday--all day display plus a separate evening event. Not sure what to expect but will try to make it after work.
