Concerning the bracelet, does it fit comfortable? Since there is no micro adjustments like on the subs bracelet.

I already try a 15450 at my AD but of course I could not close it.

If it’s the same as my 15400, then there is no adjustment. However, you can order a one and a half link, if a full link isn’t comfortable enough.

I’m talking SS BLRO. If you thought I meant the WG BLRO, then you wouldn’t be far from correct. If not, then you’re far off the mark. AP 15400, especially the boutique only blue dial, commands a much higher price than a SS BLRO.

The AP is an overall dressier watch. The most important decision is moving from a purely sports watch to an AP semi-dress. I have both AP and the hulk and they are certainly very different in appeal.

Same here, owning both I would also agree that for daily wear the sub is a better daily watch. The RO would be my weekend or special events warrior.

So to me, a watch is a watch. I’ll be bored with an AP the same as a hulk but the hulk long term , may hold its value to a wider audience. Ultimately these prices will crash ... this market cannot likely sustain itself forever, and I think Rolex has a universal appeal even beyond patek long term... I may be incorrect, but keep the hulk unless you actually dislike it.. also, talk to people outside this forum about AP and Rolex service costs and headaches..weigh the two long term beyond aesthetics. They’re both beautiful pieces.

At day’s end, do the deal if you really want the AP..Were it me, I’d keep the hulk and know it’s beautiful.

Thanks for this longer feedback.

Don’t you think that the AP will at least stay stable in price?

I’m not buying watch as an investment but not loosing money would be great for sure.

AP>Rolex, its not even close. Go for it.

15450 should wear very similar in size to your hulk as well.

[QUOTE=GGGMT;10034044]+1. I don’t get AP.

People that say this then have just Rolex, to me a very boring run of the mill watch, especially the SS models.

Go for the trade, you won't look back.

I would do it in a heartbeat. The AP has so much more to offer from a horological perspective. The design is also more interesting and refined.

I have an lv and a 15450--love both but they are super super different watches, just depends on what kind of watch you're after.

I do get a much better fit with the sub since there's no microadjust on the RO bracelet.

Thank you all very much for the help.

I will think about it a bit longer. I would be great to have the possibility to try a white dial out. This would help a lot.

My 15450 fits very comfortably. I have a 6.3 inch wrists and took out one link.

Are there some AP collector from the Switzerland on this forum?

Would be great to be able to try a 15450 white or blue.
Even a blue 15400 or 15500 would great to try on.

The AP boutique and AD close by never have them in stock. :/

Not even in configs other than stainless? I've seen folks who have been able to try on 37mm for size - just not stainless.

The AD/Boutique will almost certainly have a full gold or even a silver and gold 15450 available for you to try on.

I got lucky in terms of being able to compare the 15450 with a 15400 both white, still waiting for a blue 15450 though...

Yes I did try a full gold black dial with diamond bezel in 37mm

Not really the kind of model to get a o good idea of the size.

I made my decision based on trying a piece that had a diamond bezel. Not sure what you mean about it not being a good representation of size as it is exactly the same as one in stainless would be.

If you like the size - pull the trigger on it. If you find it too small, try on a 41mm

What I meant to say was that the watch being yellow gold with a diamond bezel, the optical effect or “illusion” is not the same as a steel model with white dial.

White dial on steel feels visually bigger.

While that may be true I still think that you should be able to make a decision on the size by looking at a 37 mm piece vs a 41 mm piece.

Will it be exactly the same watch?

No.

Will you get to see the proportions / case size on your wrist?

Yes

Yes, I think the AP Will retain value and be stable. But I’m far more certain the Rolex will. Both are great.

It’s funny I too don’t buy watches as investments, but in my mind it’s a huge factor. Rolex will sell always to a far wider audience. There’s no wrong answer. I foresee the hulk being, easily, a 30,000$ usd piece someday, but this will take some time and will require Rolex to cease its production. I can’t say where that AP will be by then. Maybe 40k or less than 30k. I love Rolex because it’s a safe bet, classy, and looks great.... there’s no downside to a Rolex except ,the Rolex replicas coming out now rival the real pieces.

Good luck with your decision. I wear a hulk all the time and paid 12k after tax grey for it. It was the best watch purchase I’ve made next to a new msrp Pepsi. I like the hulk far more than the pepsi even I though I overpaid for it maybe.

Thanks for all the feedbacks. At the moment I’m trying selling the Hulk locally. Maybe I will regret it.

But the time for a change has come.

Once I have the fund I will continue to think about it.

For sure I will let you guys/girls know about the outcome.

Actually it would be a good deal.
At the moment there are a hand full of hulk sell brand new 2019 selling locally between 13500 and 14500 dollars (chf).

So it is impossible to sell a well worn hulk for the same price.

But I went for an other watch.
