The one downtown SF.

They had 100% stock, but all high-end, only SS were OP and DJ. But tons of TT, WG, YG... Plat... very nice store. Looks like Rolex is re-positioning its image, more high-end. Less tool. Got to see Toni. She’s great. 8-years with this AD.

Stopped by last weekend. Very nice boutique! Very nice high end stock! I like going to these to look at pieces I never see at other AD’s. It’s unfortunate they won’t sell me any SS professional pieces.

They'll be happy to sell you a "pre-worn" Rolex at a nifty grey market price!

I honestly don’t think Rolex cares and by the stock and presentation I think it’s strategy. Why sell a bunch of down market watches with thinner margins when buyers have deeper pockets these days and a lust for the best. It not only helps Rolex from a business and financial position it also builds more brand equity and perceived value. I don’t think Rolex wants to be known as a tool watch Sub company.

The stock they had made a TT 36mm look entry level. As sad as that sounds, they know their market.

I agree, they had some extremely nice stuff. I think I made a fairly positive connection with a SA there, so time will tell how things play out.

There's only one Westfield/Tourneau in the SF Bay Area.

It's a Rolex only boutique now, but still owned by Tourneau. Apparently the rest of their store will be located elsewhere.

They have been transitioning to the luxury market for the last two decades, slowly and incrementally.

Toni said they were not owned by Tourneau. (shrug)

Worth stopping by on a whim or no? I’ll be in sf Friday for work and might have time to check it out.

So my wife told me about the new Rolex store. She was there 10 mins after they opened the doors. She asked if I wanted anything. I said “Sure, go grab a stainless steel Daytona for me”. She called me a few mins later saying they laughed at her. I only felt kinda bad for sending into the flames like that

The SA I'm working with there has a Tourneau email address, and his business card also says Tourneau. Just double checked the email exchange and his signature states,
"Rolex Boutique Sales Professional
Tourneau San Francisco"

Something isn't adding up.

I also really like Kerns. They sometimes put a treat in the case, but they have told me flat out that things like GMTs are sold before they even hit the case. Then they go on about building a relationship, keep stopping in, blah blah blah. I pop in atleast once a month and chat for a bit, hopefully it'll pay off.

Tourneau was acquired by Bucherer so technically she is correct.

I'm not disagreeing, but its rather poor marketing to continue using the Tourneau email/branded cards if you're no longer operating under that entity, no?

It wouldn't even be a difficult fix -> Reprint new cards, set up email forwarding on the old email to go to the new address. Lastly fix the signatures to no longer say Tourneau. Because as it stands, it seems as if they are still operating as Tourneau.

Not going to name names but they were trying to sell me bottom tier watches IWC/Tudor/Panerai to get a chance to be in a waitlist to get an explorer 2 and speed up the process. I asked them so you have it you just wont sell it. He says maybe . I was done with that store after that BS
