Ok, very different watches, but in terms of size, feels very similar!

You’d be surprised. The 5990 is 12.5mm and the 116519 is 12.4mm, so very little in it!

Yep, and actually, the Daytona crystal isn’t flush so in totality the Daytona May be bigger!

I wanted the 5712 for years.....until I tried it on. It felt like a toy, too light.
Moved onto the 5990. It has heft, complications and presence.
How much is the AD offering you the 5990 for?

I´d wait for the 5712, the 5990 does nothing for me.

5712. Actually, almost the same text I posted on the ‘Platona vs 5712’ poll also applies here, adjusting the name of the runner up. 5990 is great, all Nautilus are great. Now, the comparison here is an unfair one. IMHO there is no watch below the threshold of 100k which comes close to the 5712, and very few even above that price point. MP, PR, 240 micro-rotor, slim case profile, a cool and unusual dial which intriguingly keeps its balance despite the asymmetrical layout... No watch packs as much value and awesomeness as the 5712.

Get the 5990... you will be very happy with it. Who knows when the 5712 will come in.
