Love my 41 as i find myself in a suit several days a week. My first Rolex however, is my beloved gmt ii, built like a tank and suitable for (almost) any occasion. Is the 41 suitable for a young man? Absolutely. Especially if you find yourself in an office or tend to be well dressed. Otherwise, I'd have opted for one of the sports models as I feel they're more fun and versatile, but that's just the route I took.

Great choice for a young guy. Blue dial makes the watch very youthful.
Make sure you try both 36mm and 41mm before you decide. Go with what fits you best!

All I can say is that the Datejust with blue dial and fluted bezel with a Jubilee bracelet is classic Rolex. It won’t go out of style. That is arguably the best combo for the Datejust. I got mine just after I turned 28 back in 2004. It is an amazing reference. Still have it today.

Rolex Datejust (126234) for a young man?
Do it. You won't regret it. I picked the exact same configuration of the 36mm DJ, reference 126234, fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet and blue dial for my 30th birthday back in October. The watch arrived a few days before my actual birthday and I was able to time it exactly to have the card dated that day.
It's a classic size, nice and clean dial that shimmers in light, iconic and will never go out of style. I'm finding myself enjoying it more and more with each passing day I wear it, while generally the hyped-up pieces have been on a declining slope since I picked them up. Buy what sings to you and not what others tell you to buy, and that's the recipe for enjoyment. |

I'm 22 and I wear my DJ41 everyday. I have the TT Rose with jubilee/fluted and Wimbledon dial so it is quite different from the one you desire, but it is still an amazing watch that looks great with anything. I do not think it matters what age you are which is something cool about it. It will look good when you're young and old.

buy the watch you want in the configuration you want and just enjoy it
don't base it on POTENTIAL resale value down the road or what other people like you have no idea what's going to happen tomorrow or 10 years later |
