I hear you man. But the flip side is, if you saved for so long and the watch means that much to you just wear it and enjoy every moment with it. Watches can be repaired and scratches can be polished. Life is too short to leave a nice watch sitting on your dresser. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a beater to wear when I think a luxury watch is not appropriate.
Call it a tool watch all you want. But, sometimes it's the wrong tool for the job. JMO. |

Get yourself one of these and wear it at work. It’s not the most beautiful thing but it really does it’s job protecting the watch.

I respect hard work but “sacrificing 6 months” for a luxury item is possibly the reason your enjoyment of this watch is inhibited. Or maybe it’s just a mindset thing because when I buy watches I already accept that it’s money spent because I am buying for keeps with no intention of ever selling it. In any case, forget the watch... I am glad YOU escaped this incident unscathed. Rolex watches will outlive you in an accident and if they don’t, they can be restored. |

If you cant afford the risk, like many of us cant, dont wear it in higher risk places.
This gives a nice honeymoon feeling when you put it back on. As others have mentioned G shock is perfect for this kind of action or just buy a cheap $50 timex etc if you prefer another style and replacing this with another IF it breaks |

For heavy labor, like helping a friend move, i dont wear a watch or ring. Your hand could get smashed and the ring would cut off circulation or your watch could hurt you. Its steel.

You take away the soul of the watch by not wearing it for all these “dangerous” activities.

I understand the concern , I have sold a few nicer watches for fear of damaging them .
Some folks wear a Submariner or other similar watches as everyday do everything with no fear of beating the snot out of it. I tend to baby my watches until recently and decided why not just wear them and not let them rule my life But as mentioned if you are doing manual labor or more extreme endeavors maybe use a different watch that day. |

Not to sound mean, but there was a day I was almost hit by a car as I crossed the street. I still continue to cross the street.

Sometimes I don’t even wear my watch out of the house. It’s too crazy out there.
