i suppose DD is more iconic. But the iconic dress watch is the cartier tank isnt it? Not the calatrava or ALS? I understand the PP is high horology, but an iconic tank is much cheaper. Sigh - so many choics with a suit.

Wet suits while kiteboarding, sure.

Politician con men and banksters are desperate to find a reason to wear their Patek Cala. Let's not be so judgemental here on TRF.

They desperately need an excuse to play dress-up.

IMO if you are choosing between the two then get the day date. More versatile and a lot more ‘exciting’ to wear.

With a suit on a smart occasion I would favour a leather strap watch, but these days it is not compulsory to me, I just go with how I feel, often wear my 44 RG AP to a Michelin Dinner where a jacket and tie is required.

I like the DD. I prefer bracelet watches. In today’s world you can wear just about anything you want. That being said people have been wearing Day dates with a suit since it came out in the 1950’s. Remember the ad campaign..,if were were speaking here to tomorrow you’d wear a Rolex.
