to be honest, i don't like the general public's perception of rolex - the whole status symbol thing. i have one because i love fine mechanical wristwatches, not because i want to impress other people.

Do something with the case back. I would not necessarily make it see through, although that would be cool. It's just too plain, there are many high end watches with very artful relief engravings on their case backs and Rolex needs to do something.

Bring back a moon phase chronograph. Hey, they brought back a jazzed up Prince, think modern "Moons and Stars". This would have a clear case back and the movement should be skeletonized with Geneva waves on the rotor and plenty of blue steel screws.

-just a couple off the top of my head

Offer every purchaser lifetime service, on a complimentary basis. These watches are priced high enough to warrant it.

Excellent point. I like them for the rugged qualities and for their mechanical qualities (self winding) etc

I think maybe 10% of the Rolex owners buy the watch for it history and the rest are for the name and show off.

I'm a simple man, I admit I like Rolex because is a Rolex at first and it only become more than a watch after wearing it for many years ...

Don't hate me for that

The bracelet those damn hollow tubes. You would think that anyone makingm such an expensive watch would not cheap out on them . Buying a new one ism 1200 bucks and the hollow tubes are the weak point and that is where they break three times now for me

Dislikes (no offense intended to anyone)

1) Cost of all gold models: I dont think there's 15k worth of gold in a DD.
2) No date feature in the Cellini line.
3) Quality control is lacking (2 bubbles in the lume of my DJ)
4) Current Subbie/YM bracelet (I've seen that type of bracelet on vintage Omegas!)
5) No automatic Cellinis.
6) DDII is too big
7) Too many TT models
8) Rolex isn't a pretty name for a watch (unlike PP, VC, or Omega)

Likes

1) I like the statement Rolexes make: ambition, achievement, quality, etc
2) Many traditional models to choose from that haven't changed much (Subbie, Airking, DJ)
3) Wonderful historical and cinematic ties (AirKing to RAF, Subbie to Bond, Oyster? to UK POWs)
4) Durability
5) The tall crystals and cyclops profiles

What would you do if you become the new Rolex CEO ???
Go back to less cluttered (less wording) dials, like in classic old Subs and Daytonas.
Inscriptions like "Superlative Chronograph offically Certified" would go to the case back, and shown in advertisements.
Back to all satin finish Oyster bracelets in sport line (or "tool") of watches.
Polished central link for "dress" watches line.

Will new Rolex CEO listen me?
Well, these are little changes for a more traditional "Rolex look".
They make sensational watches anyway!! I Love them!

Kind regards, Abel

As much as I like a Daytona ,I don't like the 40mm with no date .My all time dream watch is a SS Daytona 43 or 44mm with a date window ,and if that was a reality I won't hesitate to buy one any day !

With all respect , I don't want to offend anyone .
but seriously cut down production ? make it more exclusive ? what happens when you go through a mission trying to find the Rolex you want . I don't know about everyone else but I like to find my watches without the headache . It's was hard enough trying to find my Daytona a couple of weeks ago .

1. Stop production of GV, LV (for collectors)
2. Hopefully GMTllc Pepsi/coke at Basel.
3. Offer SS sport model with quick change leather strap in 42-44mm.
4. Change dial on current SS Daytona and increase case to 43-44mm.
5. Offer limited production on certain pieces-no announcments until all 2500 or so are sold.
6. No price increase until 2010.

make the GMT-IIc in pepsi/coke once again - and increase to 42 or even 44mm, without making it fat like the deepsea

increase the daytona to 42mm and put a day and date on there -

stop with price increase that outpaces inflation -
