Not everyone is as price sensitive. Even with the inflated prices, compare with brick and mortar greys or large shops like watchfinder, chrono24 and the prices are better here

What is the point of looking at this thread anymore, if the OP is going to continue to ignore the fact that market price is the current fair price, not MSRP like others said.

MSRP literally stands for Manufacturer SUGGESTED retail price. Not Mandatory Selling Real Price or My Silly Ridiculous Price.

A market price on an in Demand item is a fair price. It’s a price you could buy it for and a price you can sell it for (minus use cost). I’d rather pay a market price over MSRP and be able to sell it for something close I paid for it vs. paying MSRP and knowing I can’t sell it or will lose 30-40% right away (i.e. less in demand).

It is not the sellers driving up the prices, its the BUYERS who are willing to pay more and more because they want the watch and its worth it to them. And now that everyone knows if they come across a in demand watch they don't really want, they can buy it and flip and make some money or at least earn thousands in miles on a CC, which drives the prices up even higher because the watches stay hard to get.

I like looking at the pictures but i find it frustrating as there is so little available in the UK. But, we see the same re-sellers posting and bumping the hard to find watches at inflated prices.
I know, I don’t have to buy and can make an offer etc... but this forum is meant to be a community. However, these sellers are ‘rubbing our noses in it’ and if they were not buying them all up and flipping, we may then have the chance to buy at cost.

Often times I'll look at the FS section and laugh really hard thinking the seller cant possibly be serious. Especially when I see a watch has been sitting for a month+ but they don't lower the price at all.

There are only 2-3 sellers on here that I would consider paying over MSRP over and thats because I feel very safe with them, and know I'm getting a *good* watch. Not photoshopped or angled just right to hide any surprises.

Other than them? No. I'm not giving you 12k for a SS new with stickers Sub, Ted.

Sorry not sorry. Keeping bumping those posts until you're blue in the face.

It’s not TS that are buying them from AD’s but the flippers who are getting them from AD and selling them to TS. And it’s hardly only on TRF, it’s everywhere - the TS prices are consistent with the market prices of all greys and private flippers. Could not disagree more. They are merely reporting the facts. Not making the news.

And no one goes into business to sell at "cost." Last time I checked, my AD was making a pretty good commission over and above his "cost" from Rolex.

Respectfully suggest that if you are committed to giving great deals to the community, then go into business yourself, invest your capital and buy some watches and sell them on the forum at "cost." Don't think you would stay in business very long. But that is just my opinion.

Or, if the market price is too high for the hot model of the day, buy one that is within your budget. Or, buy a Tudor. They are still at or below MSRP.

Any of these options beats complaining and going bare wristed.

It's just a watch.

When you are asked to pay these crazy prices, for me, it loses the fun of being a hobby.
People are on the AD list, then get called, buy the watch, they know they don’t want it, flip it to one of the TS’s on the forum, and now it appears for sale at an even higher price. If buying under this circumstance is fun, then one should continue doing it. But not me.

Here's one on "Willingness to Pay", which is what Grey dealers have to constantly be evaluating and then determining what they are willing to pay for their supply of watches at which they will mark them appropriately to be right at that price point at which customers are willing to pay.

It's the CUSTOMER that sets the price they are willing to pay. In Rolex speak, what is my "waiting time" worth to me and how much do I really want that hot watch?

It is Rolex who controls the quantity, which they have not been increasing to match demand that would lower the pricing.

Finally, the rise in the Chinese middle class and social media telling us what we should have at a certain income level have both made significant impacts on the demand signal, making the number of watches available seem far below the increasing demand signal.
