5970P or 5270P are on the list but trying to learn about manual wind. How inconvenient is it when worn infrequently. Even at twice a week it seems like you would be setting it a lot.

That’s where the beauty of the 5370 comes in. Set the time, wind and be on your way. Complicated but simple to use.

That said I made the same argument and roger (whose opinion holds much more water than mine) noted you can set the PCC in a matter of a minute once you’re familiar with the process.

The 5370 has the enamel dial, interesting case and pushers, Arabic numerals, it’s a split seconds. I can’t believe I never see celebs wearing it. It’s literally the first watch I’d buy if I came into the extra dough.

5170P would already be in my collection but it lacks a date. I might make an exception someday but I never wear my watches without date. Ruins Daytona for me. Admire the watch but I personally never wore mine.

That’s one hell of a first world problem. I’d do a Patek 5370P.

I've never seen a RM outside of the celebrities who get them for free. Everyone's tastes are different, but I'm a no on RM. Right to there with Hublot for me.

Admittedly I’ve never seen an enamel dial.

I’m not leaving Patek (or Rolex for that matter). My Instagram account is PatekAddict which tells you where my watch addiction is focused. But I’ve admired (and sometimes hated) RM for at least 12 years and it may be longer. I agree the model I like will lose money but it’s my favorite model overall at a price I can justify. There are plenty of models I love for the technology or at $300K but they are just to thick for me to be comfortable wearing.

Someone asked how many Nautilus I have. I have 4 and 3 Aquas. My point was that’s a lot of redundancy. It didn’t really happen on purpose. Wanted 5167A, 5711 Blue and 5726 but they weren’t available. So I ended up buying others 5167R and 5711 White as I was able to source (before market went bonkers). I have a 5396 grey dial that I use for the very few times I need a dress watch.

So all that leads me to be inescapably drawn to RM. if I buy and hate I’ll sell and move on. Just trying to talk through the choice to let a 5711 or two go as they probably aren’t replaceable with my name on papers. Anyway rambling post but I enjoy the forum and everyone’s feedback. I’ll post pics if I do the trade. A friend is letting me borrow an RM 30 for awhile to test my sickness. We’ll see.
I think The new RM’s are very different than the RM 30. Try to test out a TPT watch.

Keep the Nautilus. If minded to move up should consider the 5270G or the 5970G or R. Never touch the RM. The QC for the RM is so poor.

Agree on the 5370p.

You are bored but that is going to make you just buy something to buy it. RM does absolutely nothing for me.

Great shout.

It would be a tough call between this and the RM67-02 but I would probably go RM if push came to shove.

I did this very same thing about 6 months ago. Had several PP's I was not wearing. Sold them and bought a RM. I have not doubted my decision one bit. I wear the RM about 50% of the time.

Good luck! I know you'll enjoy the ride.

I’m waiting for my 67-02 so I can use it as my daily.

Have u seen the price fall of Pateks? You and I both know the World time enamel and an entire slew of Pateks are difficult to move.
right of course. but the entry ticket of RM is much higher

Not really the relationship piece may have a -20k value. But that’s no different than a Patek relationship piece :) at -20-30k

If anything. The PPs have a higher % hit.

See buddy I pay attention in math class :)
I also know what a parabola is :)

I am not a fan of RM at all, so probably am not in a good position to advise. I would NEVER exchange a real watch for any model from a brand that produces skull, erotic and lollipop watches, just to name some monstrosities. RM67 is of course ok, and so are RM005, RM010 for instance. Still, I have a negative bias for RM in general. Hope this doesn’t sound disrespectful – just personal taste (or lack of it, as some might prefer).

I am not denying that certain F1 drivers get their RMs for free but where does the notion come from that all celebrities get their watches for free?

So Kevin Hart, ellen, Mark Wahlberg, John Mayer all get their watches for free?

As far as I understand a lot of celebrities buy grey and just pay double for their RM11.

In regards to OPs question. I woldn't do it for an RM 67, too easy to get but would do it for a bubba watson or RM11.

Agreed the Erotic one is bonkers and the skull and a few others are cheesy. But man for some reason the brand still draws me in. Seeing them in person for the last few years pushed me over the edge.

History about same as FP Journe. I think annual volume similar. I’m not convinced if either stopped producing tomorrow it would negatively impact values. I’d argue the opposite. They have pretty strong reputation and collector base. Also tons of crossover with Patek and Rolex owners I’d think. Not a RM fan boy yet but I fear it may be coming.

I think RM has perfected what in some cases Patek and others have done: making luxury watches with no expense spared - the very definition of luxury. The skull, erotic and other RM watches are just....fun. They are not meant for people that are upper middle class that want a nice watch; they are for people with F&^% you money. That's my opinion.

I personally like the crazy hands one :) and if/when I hit $100M net worth maybe I'll get a bon bon for no other reason than because I can.

If I had to choose one and want to retain value but also fit my personal style today... I'll probably get a bubba wubba white :)

Is it easy to sell a RM privately? Seems like such a hassle to move a +200k piece.
