I am riding a Banshee Rune 27.5" and recently picked up a lightly used Specialized Epic Hardtail for smoother trails.

Do not own a Rolex but own a Tudor.

I don’t do much extreme stuff. But, I wear mine body surfing, hiking, and swimming. I usually take it off for the gym, but that’s more for comfort then to protect it.

I don’t do anything extreme! I used to do motorbike track stuff but those days are well behind me. Skiing is likely the thing I do most likely to cause damage to my watch, typically wear my Dweller for this. But might well wear my AP Diver in my next trip.

Funny how many people worry about damaging a £10k watch and yet accept £10k depreciation on a car in a year. All about mindset.

I am in law enforcement. I have dings, scratches, and scrapes on my OP. Other officers wear a Casio. Do I baby mine? No. It’s just a day in my life that I can reflect upon - telling my daughter how the dings, scratches, came to be...when I give it to her one day. Then she can say ‘my daddy gave me this watch and he loved it so much, look at what he’s been through with this!’

I'm retired LE, wait until you have to fight someone to the ground and your watch gets ground down agaisnt concret total lose. Seen it happen to a brother who thought like you. Maybe you don't work the street in a marked scout. LE can be white cooler too where all your battle scars are from desk diving.

I don't know - it's a consumer item, not a human life - while you wouldn't want it totally destroyed as you're suggesting, the dings and nicks and all those things do tell a story - a story that isn't told through a mint watch. Maybe I am romantic... but in 50 years, whoever gets my Rolex, I hope they look at a big chunk out of it and go "whoa wonder what that was!". Even if it was I was rushing to catch my bus and hit a lamp post - they'll never know!

Oh, and can't RSC basically make it close to new again anyway? New crystal... good polish...??

Personally. I wear it and enjoy it but I am also cautious. If I’m working on my motorcycle or car, remodeling the house or other high risk areas of damage that can easily be avoided. I wear a gshock.

For me it’s been: offshore fishing, snowboarding, hiking, kayaking, skydiving and motorcycle riding

Extreme activities well after reading thousands of posts on forum over the last 15 years most Rolex watches today get a extremely pampered life.With many even afraid to wind them or get there watches wet plus the many others.I sometime wonder why some buy one of the toughest mechanical watches made today perhaps mostly just to wear the brand.

I have had several sports models, settled on the batman and it is worn always..LE tactical training, range qualifications, diving, outdoor projects, vacations, gym..its insured and will go to my son after college. Enjoy them.. my 2cents. Cheers

I hike a lot, temperatures ranging from -25 to over 120 F. The activities not, but the weather is. I also travel everywhere with one. Some would think that’s extreme, considering where I go.
