I think he was refering to the Z8 above. Not sure if it is an Alpina or not.

I have to ask, VH, what do you bring to this Saturday AM gathering?

I don't have anything special, just a modded E46 (BMW 3 series). It looks great in general, but for some reason it looks so ordinary when I park next to the other guys in the group.

That little red beauty is absolutely an Alpina. Beautiful.

Some very impressive looking automobiles, Vu.

Looks like a fun get together.

Looks great Vu.
I need to join a car club. :(
I kinda like my car, in that it doesn't stand out as looking "fast & exotic", as I think I get away with more on the road, but other times I wish I had gone exotic.

Sorry, that's not an Alpina Z8. The Alpina Z8 was an automatic, the Z8 in the picture is a manual. Not to mention, Alpina cars have the Alpina logo plaster on the steering wheel, center caps and etc. We had someone come in an Alpina B7 before and you know an Alpina when you see one.

I have to agree with vh. The Alpina Z8s came with special Alpina only rims. The red Z8 in Vh's pictures does not have the Alpina rims. Unlikely the owner would swap out the Alpina rims for stock OE Z8 rims. Possible, but unlikely.

vh- would like to see pics of your E46 some day. I have an E36, myself.

Cheers,

FLi

Next time I'll look a little closer before I open my big mouth. You're both right.

Here's a snapshot I took awhile back.

I've just done some minor mods so far...

Ceramic tint
17" CSL style rims
Clear corners, smoke side markers and smoke LED taillights
BMW M strut bar
Dinan Stage 1 suspension

Dinan intake, exhaust and stage 2 software will probably be next.

That is a very tastefully modified car you have there.

I like the stage 1 suspension. It lowers the car, but doesn't "slam" it.

I like the CSL rims. They match nicely with the colour of your car and the tint.

Well done.

Do you track it at all?

Thanks. There are so many BMWs in the Dallas area that I wanted to stand out a little, but not to attract too much attention.

Dinan's suspension is very conservative especially when it comes to the M cars. I got a bigger drop than my friend's e46 M3 where he's thinking of pulling out the Dinan and putting in coil-overs.

I haven't taken it on the track yet, but I am thinking about it. I think CCA has a Spring event.

Looks like another great cars and coffee meet. We started doing those here in Boston as well.

Nice E46, I've been a big BMW guy for a long time. Had an 01 330 w/ BBS', 97 M3 w/ tons of goodies and my fiance' just picked up an E92 328xi. What can I say we LOVE the roundel around here.

This past season I just changed automobile country of origin for the first time since I guess I started driving. Went British.

The photos in this thread are from the DFW Auto Club meet. The Cars & Coffee photos are in a different thread. We had over 500 cars last Saturday and I only took photos of 139 of them.

I am hoping my next BMW will be a E90 M3.

I can't track my M3 because it is a convertible. :-(

I highly recommend you try a PDX/HPDE event with your local BMW club chapter. Once you do one, you'll be hooked. It is the only, legal, way to truly enjoy the limits of your fine, German auto.

With the mods you've done so far, I think you will enjoy driving the car on the track. Not sure what road course tracks are close to you in TX. I'm sure there is at least one.

I track an older VW Jetta that is heavily modified for the track. It started as just a fun thing. Now I'm an addicted track junky. Watch out

Cheers! And keep bringing us these great pics of beautiful autos.
