Update: I am waiting for the consigner to consider my latest offer (a shade under $15k).

In the meantime here’s a pic of the birth year 5513 (my Sunday special).

I think everyone in the forum would agree this reference is the least collectible since it lacks both the zenith movement of the 5 digit reference and the ceramic bezel of the most modern model. However, I also think it is the most wearable version and comes with the added benefit of being the cheapest. I say more wearable because the Rolex movement is objectively more robust, needs less servicing, you can leave the chrono running, etc. It also comes with a solid bracelet rather than the hollow link version of the 5 digit model. Lastly, and this is purely a preference, I prefer the steel bezel to the ceramic. I feel like the Daytona lost a little bit of its character with the ceramic bezel.

This all comes with the added benefit of the 116520 being attainable for $5-10k less than the zenith and ceramic models.

Will share photos a bit later

Watch is consigned at a 2nd gen brick and mortar store and they’ll send it off for RSC authentication before we close the transaction.

Am I covered off or should I take additional steps?

If it's a full set, unpolished for 16K, do it. Beautiful underrated watch.

I don’t agree with you at all re: “least collectible”.

I simply mean it’s the cheapest. Collectors favor the Zenith movement and pay a premium for it. You could say the same for the ceramic bezel. Although I suppose one could make the argument that the stainless bezels will become more desireable since they are discontinued. I for one prefer the stainless bezel.
