Was not impressed with FPJ, have seen various models. The movement is nice until you compare it to a lange, which is much better finished once you start taking out your loupe.

I vote Rolex, the DD is a much better allround watch.

I suggest to also look at Lange Daymatic, their version of Day-Date.

You're choosing between the most expensive Mercedes on the market, or an Aston Martin. Which do you think you'll enjoy most based considering the other watches you own?

What VC do you have and how much wrist time does that get against the Sub and DJ?

Looks like you’ll be able to wear the FPJ Monday through Friday so it won’t struggle to be picked or be seen.

I would go with the DD; more versatile as many have said.

Cheers

DD40 in Rose or Yellow is a bit too flashy for my taste. I would only get a Rose Gold or Yellow Gold watch on a strap.

Everyone’s style is different, can’t really comment to that. I have a Journe CS in Platinum that I love, although a White Gold DD40 is an amazing daily watch.

Just to close the loop on this - I ended up with the Journe and couldn’t be happier! Picked it up last week.

Since you have DJ41 in your collection, I'd go with FPJ.........

I'm a suit and tie guy at the office and the Journe seems like it makes more sense for wearing once or twice a week but interested to hear any thoughts you have on this. My other dress watches are a DJ41 and a Vacheron. TBH I'm not sure I can pull off a solid gold watch.

Perfection - I commented on this thread when you first posted and I am so glad and relieved that you picked the FP Journe over a run of the mill DD. The FP Journe Souverain is the closest watch to perfection that I have ever handled.

Welcome to the big leagues .

I *was* going to say that FOJ are really beautiful — from the back. But the one you chose (is that platinum?) is really beautiful from both sides! Congrats and thanks for updating the thread.

Get your FPJs while he's still around.

You won't be missing much from postponing your Day-Date purchase.

I mean, they're pretty incomparable. FP Journe is superior to anything that Rolex produces today for sure. Now, on the styling part, more functional side, looks like the DD will be more useful in your case.
