I’ve got an elliptical but whatever you get just make sure you stick it in front of a large screen. Most people I know who own home cardio equipment don’t actually use it. If you can bundle exercise time in with screen time it makes it a bit easier to stick with it.

Thanks for the suggestion, Sal, but there's no TV here. Motivation will need to come from scale fear.

Ever consider the Peloton bike.. Seems to be the go-to cardio, wife impatiently waiting on hers!

There are are bunch of apps and even steaming things out there. We’re doing right now doyourumble boxing on Instagram no weights, just you (and your 19lbs). Otherwise I’m a longtime fan of TRX. Versatile, easy to travel, from entry to intimidating, I hear peloton has an app, besides the bike program, which is great, free trial for 90 days. Low to no investment will keep you busy for weeks to come.
I love to have a yoga mat and some weights. And gardening.

High budget and tall ceiling- VersaClimber. Hands down the best piece of kit for an all over exercise that can build muscle or burn fat depending on how you use it. I used to have one in my old basement and missed working out on one for five years after moving to our new (older) house where it did not fit. Our club just purchased on a months before closing due to virus.

Next best - Concept 2. Great workouts possible but it. Can stress my knees and back before I feel I have gotten a great workout.

Third - Peleton or other spin bike (if you know how to push yourself and ride safely). Only downside for me is it takes an hour or more for a great workout for me.

Equinox is working hard to get their proprietary app up and running (began before Covid) but is giving away tons of free classes on instagram. Their IG handle is variis.

I have had a Concept 2 rower for about 8 years now I think. Runs as perfectly today as it did the day I bought it with just very basic maintenance.

I was still going to the gym to lift, so about two years ago I bought a power rack, bench, bar and weights. I bought all of that from titan fitness.

I haven’t been to a gym since. I was paying about $90/mo, so my home gym now costs less than what I would have paid in gym dues. I no longer have to wait for equipment to open up or deal with all the gym stuff. It’s been a lifesaver during quarantine. I’ve been working out (lightly) twice a day most days.

The only drawback is that I’m single, and the gym is always a great place to meet women, but I think the convenience of walking down to my basement in boxer shorts and socks out weighs that!

Agreed. Almost every morning I’ll put in a pair of Bluetooth earbuds and row a 5K while watching an episode of The Office or some other 20 minute comedy. I used to do a lot of HIIT workouts, or push myself to lower my 2k time or whatever, but I realized that when I just row a leisurely 2k while watching something fun I don’t dread it or put it off. It instead becomes the highlight of my morning.

Man cave, literally. Looks like a great setup Ash. Zwift has taken on a life of its own recently. You have pros (bike, triathlon) racing on there, ride alongs with Ineos, your “local” Welsh boy Geraint and lots more.

Until a few weeks ago I was more focused on just workouts with the trainer using other platforms but Zwift is the key now. Almost ready to start some racing on there.
