I find myself searching for a traditional dress watch (thin with a leather strap) when I have not worn a sport coat in a year or a tie in 5 years. time to pump the brakes.

Like many others I switch out my watches during the day. When I work I choose between my GMTs--Batman or Tudor based on which city I'm staying overnight. Currently wear one of three Rolex and Tudor when at home. Though my DeepSea isn't getting much wrist time as I decide whether to keep or not.....

You're right, OP and nicely put! There is no end game piece but there is an end game mentality.
I'm pretty much there. I'm very content with my collection. Each one has a place. If anything, it may get smaller. |

I’d say the opposite. I should be able to grab any and not care which I wear but still be extremely proud and content. I wanna own the watches time, not vice versa. |

Totally agree OP.....
For me the most difficult is on a vacation or long project out of town, since I’ve got to leave some at home!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Like with sports team, having selection problems can be a nice problem to have.

I have a watch collection not so big but the watches reached a value where I do not reflect my self anymore so I wear all day a nice 116520 Daytona black dial and that’s it. I found my equilibrium

I spent a lot of time getting to my three favorites watches. For the first time I'm finally pleased with my daily options regardless of what I'm doing. Good thread. Thanks.

I agree 100%. In fact, I sometimes use a random number generator to decide my watch for the day if my outfit doesn’t already dictate it. It’s a good sign that I’m happy whichever number comes up.
I also agree regarding the vacation thing. I agonize over that decision for weeks before my trip begins. I only bring one watch (and one G-Shock) for the same reasons you noted. It’s a hard decision to make, but I’ve never been disappointed. It’s great spending a week or two with just one watch. Great thread! |

F’ing great bikes man! In the 80’s I would have killed for any one of those. My older brother handed me down his Hutch TrackStar which I then tried to convert to a freestyle bike, but I always wanted the real deal - a TrickStar or a Haro Master.

I remember Woody Itson on his Trick Star! I was a fan of Martin Aparijo on his GT Pro World Tour. I had an '85 Pro Performer in white with hot pink Peregrine mags......heaven!
