One AD that I've purchased from in the past does sell pre-owned watches but they mostly stick to vintage or out of production pieces. I actually really respect this approach (and I've told them this) as it removes any concern around any shady transactions taking place, espiscally with the current steel sports model hype. I think their main motivation is to sell more new watches so it ends up being a win for everyone.

My AD has been selling trade-ins for about a year now. I guess it helps them move the DJ's which is all he has had lately. Oh and they're not cheap either.

Yes they are allowed to. Some do and some don't.

Nearly every AD I ever walked into does. Some will even do consignments if you want to sell your watch and are an existing customer.

The recently opened Rolex AD near me said they are no longer allowed to sell them in the same store but are allowed to sell them in the old store . They also explained they can’t retail a current model above current list , Anything discontinued like a Batman on a Oyster is ok to sell at market price or 116520 Daytona , That’s why most PX end up at Watchfinder or Similar outlets

Yes, and if they do it will usually be far away from the new Rolex section and have mixed brands for sale.

More and more ADs are entering the used market. I would guess it mostly trade-ins or returns.

AD who owns both retail pieces and pre-owned ones.

Customer: Hey, do you have the Daytona in SS?
AD: Yes, I do.
Customer: Can I buy it?
AD: Sure, lemme grab it for you.
Customer: WOW can't believe the luck!!
AD: I'm back and sorry I wore it while getting it from safe inside till here and its not longer new, its used. You can still buy it from that other counter.
Customer: Okay, lets go over there.
AD: Yes, do you want me to size it up and pack it? It'll be twice the retail price!
Customer: #$%#%&

Yes, and for pre-owned they are not required to sell according to any MSRP, so some AD can just sell a new one AS a pre-owned and $$$

My AD here in Hamburg does, along with other brands like PP, AD, VC, Blancpain, Omega etc. All their pre-owned watches are easily viewed on their website.

My AD who I have been buying from for about 20 or so years sometimes calls me when they get a trade in that they think I might be interested in; just bought one yesterday. I see a few preowned watches on display but in this day and time, the most popular stainless models probably sell before they are even put in the case.

Two of the 3 near me do. One sells them for over market price, the other one seems to be more fair.

I did a trade with an Ad of a Daytona 116520 plus cash for a pre-owned PM Daytona he got in and knew I was looking for one. Like others have said, he kept these pre-owned pieces in a separate show case.

Mine does sell pre-owned. Thinking about it, they seem to sell pre-owned everything. Last time I was there they put a gold DJ with a green face (not for me) that had been in teh show room for a white and moved it into their "used Watch" space?

My (now) AD in Indianapolis does. Bought a SS model from them recently, took some haggling and ended up walking out at exactly second hand market price for it (possibly better if factoring in remaining warranty), which I was pleased with.
