Yeh, it can really vary depending on the light. It looks it’s best in direct sunlight I think, as the Rhodium dial and blue seconds hand really look amazing

Thanks for the heads up but I’m about as far away from Florida as it’s possible to be. I guess it’ll go to a good home. Hope you got the watch you wanted

It is expensive relative to other choices, but there is no denying that it is a nice watch

When I was looking for one, I cold called a nearby AD and was told I'd be put on the waitlist. Ended up finding one through another AD and bought it. Got a call about 3-4 months later from the first AD and was told they had one for me. Since then this is one of the only SS sports models I've seen in displays anywhere. So they are out there. Ive also seen a number of pre owned on the trusted sellers sites well below retail.

go for the 116622 aftermarket. you get some great perfect conditions ones. davidsw, ocrolexguy, sdwatches, aiswatches, lawrenceB, takayu, lots of great resellers.

Mine was in the glass. Went in with no intention of looking for a Yachtmaster. They had the 37 and 40 in rhodium. Purchased the 40. I still see the 37mm occasionally when I drop into different AD’s. I think YM are rare as the others, but they just don’t hide them and play the waitlist shenanigans with them lol

That’s a easy watch to get. I get offer for that piece all the time.

I hope they stay under the radar. I plan on buying one next year and don't want the prices skyrocketing until after I have mine.

I personally think its the best looking Rolex in the current line-up.

I did not realize that the YM40mm would be sort after. I see them at my AD once in a while. I do see the 37 and TT ones all the time. Since I got mine 6 months ago or so, I have not paid attention to this model when I visit my AD.

I would have thought that the blue dial one will be harder to get than the rhodium dial. Picture of mine when when I bought it and love the rhodium dial.

My wife wanted the 40mm rhodium, it was not in stock at the 3 local ADs, could only find two tone and the Oysterflex models. The AD (I have bought things before from them, several random pieces jewelry over last few years & a tudor.. but wouldn't say I have "relationship" there) had basically told me he'd get one sooner rather than later but couldn't commit exactly when as shipments are unpredictable. But the clear impression was there wasn't a lengthy waiting list... as opposed to the answer I got regarding hulk & pepsi which is those are very tough to get but I'll see what I can do. I put my name down and waited probably about 2 months but when COVID shut the world down, I ended up buying a preowned but like new from a trusted seller at a fairly significant discount vs MSRP + tax on the reference with updated movement.

My friend was able to score a 40MM Rhodium last week while on business in Portland. Walked into the the AD (no prior relationship) and started perusing, asked about the SS sport models and the rep came out with one from the back. So lucky. Talk about being at the right place at the right time.

I got my 126622 rhodium when I travel to Portugal in March. The ad got both colors on display. I got it tax free. So happy and wearing it everyday.

I've seen them. Not as common as DJ's but I have never seen a SS sub in a display.

rarely saw the 116622 in the AD. saw a few at Rolex AD in South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa CA. They use to have a lot. Now nothing.

I just purchased mine last week through Local AD.

I have been looking at the YM 40 Rhodium 126622 for a couple of months now, and was lucky my SA said it was available on display when I texted him last week.

I did not expect them to have any Rolex Sports Model in-store, as they never had any piece in the past couple of years I've visited them. Couldn't believe my luck.

I'm waiting to pick it up once it's safe to travel again, as my Local AD is in another city.

The blue dial is so underrated as a watch.
