Omega is limiting the releases of a general production watch. I talked to two different Boutiques trying to source the NATO strap and was told neither the strap or bracelet could not be sourced right now. I inquired about buying the watch, as I have a friend who is interested, and was told they received one or two of each style every four to six weeks and they were pre-sold. One Boutique said my friend could pay for the watch and go on a list of 11 for the bracelet model and a list of 10 for the NATO model. Once the watches get enough in general circulation I would believe the prices will dip but I would expect that to be spring of next year. Omega will milk the movie release in November and the Christmas season and then we may see a change.

Such a nice piece! I can't wait for this film to be released! I'll buy it on Blu-ray also:

I love the marketing material / campaigns anytime a new Bond film is coming out.

That lume is pretty slick. Curious why they went with the green minute hand? I think I would have preferred all blue

All of my 300Ms have the green minute hand. I suppose just to keep it consistent.

The green lume on the minute hand is the same as the green lume on the pip
They are corresponding in colour to allow you to easy keep track of minutes passed when submerged while diving.

I guess all modern(?) Seamster Divers are the same, no matter if Standard or James Bond Edition

Cheers,
Michael

Does anyone definitively know whether the mesh bracelet and nato strap can be interchanged on the same watch head (ie can you go back and forth between bracelet and strap)?

You can.

You can’t put rubber on it from the regular ss wave. OB scratched my backside trying

I have had I think 5 seamaster's and this is by far the best. I am curious how the advertising campaign will go over the next few months with the global economy and lack of volume at theaters. Will this movie release on time?

Man this watch is making me melt. The price on this is higher than a Submariner and that becomes a hard pill to swallow.

I am yet to spot one at a discount, if anyone has please point me. Thank you.

Will be tough to get it below retail. Yes the sub is a classic but this is definitely a better watch. I'd get a sub before this for a balanced collection. This is my favorite seamaster ever and it's not nostalgia, it's objective metrics.

I picked it up last Friday 20% off retail, so it can be done.

Looks so much better in real life and is a strap monster.

??? I asked ???

My SA is pretty awesome as well, and the AD is owned by Buffet, so maybe they're just into moving product.

Nato strap, ordered the titanium mesh (but will most likely pay full price for that), and I have about 12 other straps coming for this guy. I don't think I've ever been as enamored about a watch as I am this one...and I actually didn't like any of the pics of it.

Wow that's awesome. Are you getting Omega branded NATO's or generic? This looks amazing on an all black....

Coming I have "generic" but have Omega brand as well. They're not all NATOs, though. I had some other ideas about the watch.

This is the first Bond watch since the Casino Royal that I didn't buy.
I got the call to go to the shop as soon as it came in, but I just didn't gel with it, in my humble opinion it seemed to be trying too hard with the faux patina.

My favourite is the Commanders watch, but I'm a sucker for a white dial.

To answer the question about value retention, I paid £1750 for the Casino Royale Planet Ocean and according to a well known sales website the value increase now has surpassed 100%, but it's taken 13yrs to get there.
The Commanders watch in contrast is just a few years old and it seems to be selling at roughly what I paid for it, so that's a loss if you consider inflation.

That titanium makes this one really light and the band is a unique turn for this style. I love it. Let's see how Bond wears it in a couple months, though. There have been some flop bonds.

As for the commander that's a pretty decent increase in value. You'd obviously make more in the stock market but you can't wear and enjoy stocks.

It's the Casino Royale that has increased in value, the Commander watch is roughly at (or just below) what I paid for it - which if you consider inflation is actually a bit of a loss.

The Casino Royale was £1750 in 2007, so if it returned the estimate of £3500 claimed then it's certainly beaten inflation, but I don't think the Bond watches will ever rival the hot Rolex watches in terms of value appreciation.

Buy them because you love them, not because of any future value.

I agree with the Bond vs Rolex value appreciation. I have my fingers crossed on the Spectre 300, though, but with moderate expectations at best.

I don’t understand the pricing, 9k. Isn’t a regular SMP like half of that?
