Congrats on the watch! I was excited for you when I read your original post yesterday. Glad you went for it!

Side note in no way meant to disparage the OP:

This forum is comical. A guy posts here the other day that he got a relatively easily obtainable AP royal oak chronograph to celebrate his birthday and graduation. Within a few responses, he was told he posted in the wrong thread. It wasn’t a Rolex Watch and so should have been in the AP section.

Interesting to see that when it’s a harder to get Patek, the Rolex forum gives a pass. Just an observation.

Congrats! This is the best decision you’ve made regarding your collection when you reflect back five years from now. I regretted not picking up the 5980/1R but instead bought a PC.

Saw your post on the PP thread... congrats! Personally, not a fan; however, I was deciding between PP or the PT DD and said when I go PP it will be Grand. Enjoy and wear in great health!

I'm with you on this one, with the point that this, just as the other day thread on the AP, should be moved to their sections accordingly. It will soon become a mess if the mods are continuing to sleep and have all kinds of threads in the wrong sections.

Sincere thanks to all for the well wishes. Still in somewhat of a fog that I have this watch. Never ever asked for it. Now I know what others have experienced when getting lucky with a watch that has a waitlist for years by simply walking in and being taken care of by your AD. I’m in shock right now. Love my AD and my first PP. Have a wonderful day all. One more pic on morning #1.

Thank you. I understand the viewpoint why post here. I could be mistaken but I think I’ve seen non-Rolex incoming posts here so I thought it would be of interest. If it bothers people future posts will posted accordingly.

I just have come to really love this watch, and I generally do not lust for Nautilus. I'm very jealous and what a great pick up. Congratulations to you and wear it in good health!!
