DEBIT/Credit for anything over $10k, as simple as paying for a tank of petrol.

Both my AD’s take a check, the know me for years. And they save in cc commission. Work fine. No need to worry about points. It’s no big deal.

Never debit card as little reward
I use Amex where I can, pay in full and get the miles/points towards a free flight.

Got a BB36 Black for my wife yesterday. There was a client in the boutiqueat the same time. In his forties. And he was buying 9! (in words: nine) Rolex watches. Paying cash.

Cash. I make sure to recognize in front of the AD that I don’t want them getting hit with a 2% credit card fee. Part of relationship building. Sure, it’s only a couple hundred bucks, but they are a business. Anything over $10k needs a form filled out, but so what?

credit card.
It is also the trend in my region to pay with vouchers of the mall that the AD accepts, as these vouchers can be obtained at a discount at various trading forums.

Figure miles at 1.5 to 2 cents... obviously this depends on your mileage program. I'm not "the points guy". If the discount for wire transfer is 2% or more, then do that.

Otherwise, get those points!

Bank of America Premiums Rewards Visa Signature- always.

At the top tier (based on assets with BofA or Merrill), this card provides 2.62 points for every dollar spent, on anything, with almost no “catch”.

Those points are redeemable for hard cash every month at $0.01 per point.

I use the rewards, that typically amount to $500-$1000 per month to supplementally fund my kids 529 college plans.

I’ve not found a better card yet, unless it’s higher points that apply only to specific categories of spending.

The AD has asked if I could pay with an alternative way on higher dollar purchases but I’ve politely declined and it’s been a nonissue.

Debit card. Once by BACS. The last one was bought on a cc which was offering 3 months interest free credit. Never say no to an interest free loan.

I get points with AMEX and in the US at least, transactions over $10K must be reported to IRS. And while not illegal per se, if the cops find you carrying that much, you will come under suspicion. And you can take it on a plane.

I use Amex. Gives me 90 days of purchase protection in case I accidentally damage or lose a watch (knock on wood haven't had to use on a watch), extends the warranty by a year (which I have used), and I get points! Amex purchases coverages I find to be the best - easy to use and always gives me piece of mind.
