Walking in, you'll here........

Ok, come over here, sit down. Here's the plan. You say you want a Rolex Stainless Steel piece.

Shhhh, I'll tell you a little secret, there are safes overflowing, with your heart's desire, and I can get one, just for you!

BUT first, you must answer correctly, one question!

When did TIME begin?

Easy - when the first watch was wound!

Sorry, I would never buy a piece that I don’t want just for the chance at something I do.

I spoke with a local AD I have no history with and they blatantly told me if I spend $5k-$10k on other pieces then I would be offered the gmt Brlo early next year. Has anyone else verbally been told this? Do I play the game?

In context I am already in search for something for wifey so this might workout.

I went and got a TT datejust for my mom and the AD told me I will be getting a call for the 41mm Sub Date by end of this year.

My mom was going to get her watch anyways and it wasn't like I was buying something I did not need so I was okay with this. Fingers crossed I will actually be getting the call though...

Great gift for mom. Hope you get the phone call soon to pick up the sub date.

You plan for a trip, you plan for a wedding, you plan for retirement. Not to take away from the SA, but I’m not really sure what the SA’s role is in “planning” to get a SS watch you have already decided you want.

Seems a bit self righteous to me. They either sell you a watch, put you on a list, take a deposit or tell you that they don’t have any.

My AD said something similar. "Take a look at this jewelry for your wife. You know, to make getting the next Rolex easier". I politely looked, said no thanks, then 2 months later got the call for a Submariner Date, lol.
