I would’ve preferred them to slim the lugs and keep everything else the same, excluding movement.
No discussion in the video about the wider bracelet, which is a negative in my mind. |

Tim does a pretty good job overall sticking to and hitting on a lot of details in a limited time span. Of course when a new model comes out it's going to be compared to the now older one it's replacing. I however don't look at it like a competition. I like them all for their own characteristics. Having a 14060 and 114060 I can appreciate that and do love both for what they are, same goes for the 5 & 6dgt Gmt. I do like the looks of the 12 Sub and may add one if it feels good on the wrist, my only small concern is the bracelet/clasp and how the 41mm dial may look a little too big on my 7" wrist, although I doubt that. One thing I know I'm not crazy about having a DJ41 with the 3235 is the backwards stem rotation when setting the time. I'm a big diver fan and have many, they dominate my collection and also feel you can't have too many so I'm looking forward to seeing one soon, hopefully when I visit my AD next week although I'm in no rush to buy one. Actually being a big Milgauss fan I've thinking more lately to adding a black lv to go with my Zblue.

I can honestly say they have never made a sub I didn’t like. They are all awesome for various reasons. My favorite are the maxi subs...just personal preference.

Tim Mosso weighs in on new Submariner debate
Mosso has such a great voice, and nice approach in each of his videos. I’m a fan.
He’s in sales. He is literately selling every watch he videos. I appreciate his videos for what they are: a wonderful product presentation. “Old sub vs new sub” is a collage of opinions. We know what people say about opinions. Everyone has one. No single one is “right”. That’s why it’s called an opinion. I do like the new sub design. I like the 4-digits, 5-digits and 11 series too. Owners: Enjoy your sub, whatever it is.

Agreed Tim knows his stuff and is very respected, but at the end of the day this is a very subjective. It amazes me how worked up people are getting over such a small change.

Of course he emphasizes positives, he's a salesman. But he knows more about watches than anyone else on the planet save actual watchmakers, he's extremely articulate, and there is a LOT to learn from his videos, despite the sales pitch. Seems a lot of undeserved hate for him here. His content is a gift to anyone who wants to take a deep dive into watches.

Surprised at the amount of people here who don't know of Tim Mosso. There are literally hundreds of videos of his reviews on YouTube.. He is a encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to watches and I also find his videos very interesting and informative.
It's funny to think about the ability to control mind share on the internet. Not saying this actually happens (in Rolex's case), but if Rolex (or any brand for that matter) were to have a bunch of watch content / influencers comment on how great the latest model is... how a lot of folks in the community begin to perpetuate this narrative. Grand Seiko makes fantastic watches but their 'presence' hasn't been as prominent via these channels. I have definitely noticed a change in the last 1-2 years as it seems they are trying to focus more here to build more brand identity / awareness. Not to say that the proportions of the new model aren't better -- it seems like they are. But the amount of hype around in relation to minor changes (actually <1mm) to the watch I find is imbalanced. |

Not really surprised at the reactions..
Overall the TRF membership has little regard or use for Youtube content makers in the wristwatch space. |

I like Mosso. He is smart, well spoken and does a good job of pointing out features and talking points without sounding biased all the time. He also thinks before he speaks and does not bog down the flow with uhms, ehhs and you knows all the time. In my experience his videos are great because it’s better than combing through photos while getting informed simultaneously.
That said he gave everyone that wouldn’t otherwise know the difference between a 116 and 126 all that info in five minutes. Let’s string him up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I bet the 11 case proportions work well for you. Had not thought about that. I’ve got a DBlue but it’s not an every day watch. I was self conscious about it at first. Had a SD43 but the tiny case-back hurt me. DBlue is incredibly comfortable. I just have to not let the thickness trigger my OCD.

both are great, there is no point arguing one is better than the other.
Rolex should come out with some more interesting stuff so people can stop talking about lugs and bracelet widths... |

I don't care so much about opinions. The 116 has more character and identity than the 126. Simply in MY opinion.. But anyway with the ongoing supply shortage it's hard to see them in real world, and photos are never a complete info, so videos are very helpful to give a somehow 3D complete idea of the watch.
