Only one switch out is allowed and no cop outs in the poll.

Which one would you upgrade and why?

I opted for the rootbeer. Truly stunning and gets so many comments. I am no fan of yellow/steel so was not an option for me

I have come to the conclusion, after going back and forth about the two toned datejust, is that it either looks like an old style watch and for dress it is way too flashy. I was thinking of adding it but can’t think of a scenario I would want to wear it over my blue SS datejust, fluted and jubilee. If I want to dress, I would pick the blue. If I want dress down and be more sporty, would go with my bluesy or sub. My blue datejust 41 is almost too flashy to wear dressed, the yellow gold takes it over the top in my opinion. So I think two toned watches are better on sports watches.

I own both

TT Bluesy
TT CHNR

They are both awesome .. -- and each watch matches for different events and moods. ..

If i could only choose one of them .. (and i'm glad i dont) -- i would choose the TT CHNR

Having owned the bluesy and going as far to say it's dial is prob my fav of all time closely followed by the JC DS. I would still not pick it. Only because for me personally yellow gold seems a bit too flashy, even in TT. Lucky enough to try on a CHNR at an AD (on the list) and I think colour wise it is one of the best watches I have ever seen. On paper rose gold, steel, brown and black sounds awful but in real life it works beautifully so option 2 for me.

SS Sub to Bluesy because you need a bit of fun in a collection every now and then. The SS Sub can look a bit too plain and ubiquitous at times, doesn't feel that special. The Bluesy on the other hand is lively, playful and a bit more interesting to wear, IMHO.

100%

SS sub in Black is as boring as you can get in all honesty. Your doing the right thing imho trading for either a TT Bluesy or a TT CHNR.

Those 2 are something special and as soon as you hold them your like "WoW". The SS sub on the other hand nothing special.......

Great comments. And interesting perspectives on the TT DJ’s “flashiness.”

I’m curious...

Do you feel the same way about the PM Day-Date? Do you consider that model too flashy — even for formal occasions?

And how about full PM versions of the Sub, GMT, or Daytona? Too flashy for your taste?

I like the SS DJ but the TT would add a little gold to a classic watch and it could be dressed up or down.

Although the Black bezeled GMT is one of the last true no nonsense Rolex tool watches, it really doesn't hold a candle in the looks competition to the Rootbeer, imho. I'd make that trade quickly!!!

Great question and I may contradict my opinion on flashiness here but...

DD. I have tried in all metals. Full disclosure I do not own one but a visit to Hatton Garden was great to see, feel and touch pieces even though at grey market prices I was not a buyer.

I felt the DD yellow as classic as it is and let's admit the bracelet is stunning, to me though it was too flashy. However it's a watch I appreciate fully on others. This may also have to do with my skin tone too.

DD RG which was one of my grails until I saw it in person for me was a little too feminine. Again ymmv.

DD WG was great and the heft was unreal but I only tried the meteorite dial which was a little monochromatic.

YG Sub for me is the flashiest and even with a beautiful attire screams I am a gold watch. Beautiful but flashy imho.

GMT - Not tried so can't say

Daytona. This is where it gets tricky. I tried on the yg zenith Daytona and have also tried it on the OF. For some reason I think (pitchforks at the ready) YG daytonas make everything work and in some cases (dial dependent) better than the SS.

Sorry for such a long answer and fully appreciate there are many lovers of PM and TT but that's my 2 cents.

I’d swap the it the DJ given these options. But hard to disagree with the root beer also. If you look at it as a collection, the GMT and sub are most similar so might warrant a swap. But individual piece wise, DJ in TT > DJ in SS.
