Speaking from experience....the baguette dial PT Daytona is worth the trade ! (IMO). Some will say you’re crazy.... I’ve been in your shoes and have done it without regret. It’s that special of a piece (at least to me) but everyone as their own preferences.
That said...I’d only do it if I were to have a SS piece to rotate. It’s outstanding as a one and only, it’s discreet enough, and definitely robust enough. Good luck |

I agree with above. Keep the Pepsi and pay cash for the difference of the two Daytonas

Not sure I'd do 3 for 1. Is it the Platona that you're after, or just platinum in general?
What about flipping one of the Daytonas plus cash for a platinum DayDate? That would be a great trio and you get your platinum watch. I also like the Pepsi/Platona idea. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |

Love the Platona but feel you need at least one steel watch to rotate to keep the Platona feeling fresh. You love the Pepsi, id try to keep it around.

Platona for 2 Daytona’s and a Pepsi
Quote:
The financial side of the question depends upon the dealer who would offer you the Platona. Trading typically strands the buyer with unrealized value. What I mean is the delta between trade value vs sales value. For that reason, I would sell the watches required (be it 2 or 3) and bank the funds for the Platona. Sell to an end-user, not a dealer. You maximize value and can freely negotiate for the Platona. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Two gold Daytonas one WG and one YG plus a SS Pepsi... for one Platinum Daytona sounds like a bad deal. I know market prices defend the math but first gold is more valuable than platinum and second your swapping 2 distinct looks and an SS daily driver (plus it is the iconic Rolex) for one silver watch. If the platona is your ultimate goal go for it but seems like a bad deal to me.

If this is what you HAVE to have... Then go for it!
Personally, I enjoy variety and would prefer the other pieces you own. |
