Batons with lumed hands. For one I like lume. But I also prefer the simplicity.

Deconstructed Romans... love the blued handset. Love Rolex Chromalight but don’t need it on this watch.

Besides TBR Platona, quadrant motif Roman dial is the only watch Rolex offers with blue hands and ice blue dial.

This one because at this price point I want to see something out of the ordinary and more creative.
I received this a few days ago and it's really stunning in the metal. On another note it has not lost or gained a single second in 3 days. Unreal accuracy. |

For me it was between this one and the motif. So of the two you listed, motif by far for me. The way the light hits that motif dial is phenomenal.

I would go with option 2 because I the Quadrant Motif dial is stunning in different light settings. The subtle complexities of the dial are quite harmonious if you take a moment to just stare. Plus I’m a little bias as that’s the one I own. Can’t go wrong either way!

No contest for me it would have to be the deconstructed romans. The dial is much more legible IMHO and a nice modern interpretation of the classic day date.

Gorgeous watch. I think I’d prefer the DD40 with these romans as opposed to the blue ones on the current watch

Both the dials are motif, diagonal motif with sticks or quadrant motif with deconstructed romans. So which motif were you talking about ?

ok, I have the Yachtmaster (rose gold, rubber band) and I really like it due to clean simple face.Epecially the bezel. I use it constantly for timing things. No thanks to the complexity of the chronongraphs which have more accuracy than I care. I like the simplicity and relability of the bezel. Secondly the lume is vital. I wear the watch to bd and read it in middle of night. Much more useful to me than a dress watch.
I like the appearance of the blue dial with romans but it offends me. I am a scientist by training and it offends me to see the romans incorrect. It jumps out at me that those arent valid Roman numerals. It is like hearing people speak ungrammatically. Grating. So what do I want? Blue dial (could we have a rotatable bezel too - very useful?), correct numerals, or none like my Yachtmaster. I dont like the cross hatching on the current day date. It just bothers me. Too busy or something. I would tire of it. I like the blue dial of the defective Roman faces. Any one else agrees? |

I vote for the first pic with batons - dial is just stunning. Depending on the design, I'm not usually a huge fan of Romans, and these Romans in particular (option 2), just looks a little off to me. I much prefer the Romans on the watch posted by Chris B.

Sticks for me but, OP, didn't you just buy the one with the sticks very recently after opening multiple threads on which DD / platinum DD to buy?!
No offense, just curious why you are asking yet again after the fact... |

I'd be unable to decide between the two; love the Romans and love the lume!!! Both are just beautiful!!! Might be more tempted by the diamond baguettes!!!

Also, lack of fine adjustment makes the comfort and fit of this watch questionable. I’d want to make certain before dropping so much on a watch. Going back to the old adage; if you have to ask perhaps you aren’t ready to buy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
