Im a type of guy who will spent on something I really want it and not just to build relation with an AD to get hot models. I have a friend who bought couple of omegas and DJ 2 tone and solid gold and still waiting for 114060 initially and now still waiting for 124060. So it feels like when AD realised they can milk you they will. In order are my purchased history from my AD nothing more nothing less. 114060, 116622 blue dial, omega moonphase blue dial, 116710blnr and recently 126660dblue. Im more on drop by check out talk to them and walk away. That way they will remember me and show them Im not a flipper and a true watch collector/enthusiast.

I bought a bluesy 126613 from an AD without prior purchase history... though I did walk in and they had it in the case, so I'm not sure that counts lol.

Yes, I bought a BLNR in 2017 and Sub in 2019 at MSRP in shops. Luck mainly!

Would imagine that literally every single sub purchase outside of the forums is purchased in this way.
MSRP with no bribery or weird sycophantic behaviour to the poor sales staff. Then the standard Rolex forum Instagram guy comes in wearing all his shiny jewellery hoping to carry favour with the sales team, who just are focusing on the weekly sales targets and staying covid free. Just add him to the list, rub hands with glee. |

I don’t know if I am considered a massive spender, I have purchased 10 watches at my AD over the last 10 years, all SS. Anyway I got a call in about 45 days.

I'm certainly not a big spender, so I was very pleasantly surprised when I got my Hulk back in September. It arrived a week or so after it had been discontinued, though I knew it was on its way prior to that.
For context - I live in a small UK city and my purchase history was Datejust, GMT LN, Cartier Tank then the Hulk. The salesman I deal with is a really lovely guy who knows that I'm genuinely into watches and won't flip them. I do wonder if the BREXIT situation here might help availability now bacause as it stands, we aren't going to be getting many tourists buying watches...My AD is in a tourist hotspot and have for many years done a large percentage of their business with Chinese tourists - this is going to really hit them but I'm going to try and put more business their way at least! |

Spring of 2018 was the last time. Kicked myself everyday until just picked up a pre owned sub-c from tourneau late last year.

It doesn't have to do with being a big spender. In my experience it's a slow process of being a loyal customer that spends over the years & participates in events / supports the ad. Etc.

I got a new Sub 41mm Date (16610) from an AD as a first time buyer back in December. Proof in favor of the maxim, "it never hurts to ask." Also going in person I think is going to be much more effective than calling around.

I assume you mean a SS Sub but I got offered a 126613LB at retail while on vacation. Caribbean pricing and no tax too which was pretty sweet. Couldn't be happier.

Yes. I bought a DJ41 and my parents purchased some jewelry. I stopped in one day and said he can get me a date Sub. I'm saving for a DJ41 with diamonds.

You dont need a purchase history but you do need to stop in a few times to express your interest and more importantly, you need to be there at the right time and right place. I did score one at palm springs
