There is no attitude just common sense, and you must be like you state being angst and fretting otherwise you would not have posted anything about your case back. Take me advice your watch is a fine example and forget about the case back, and just enjoy wearing your watch in good health, now thats far more important.

Let’s agree to disagree - I posted out of interest, there is not a lot to do in lockdown. If it’s perceived that way then can’t be helped. Nonetheless I appreciate your replies and input. Have a good day!

If it has been polished, the watch is worthless

Just curious but did RSC say they would replace the case back for $100 after inspecting the watch? They may offer to polish and brush it back to the original look but I’ve heard conflicting reports on whether they’d replace parts they didn’t feel needed it.

They haven’t been able to inspect due to Covid, they just quoted this as the price should it be required/needed

No one would ever replace the caseback merely to recreate that look. No watchmaker would suggest you do that. Ask a professional when it’s time. Caseback refinishing is done by watchmakers as described above, and I’ve done it many times, along side a watchmaker. (I’m not a watchmaker, but I slept at a Holiday Inn last night). Don’t worry. And don’t replace the caseback. Waste of resources - money.

Your watch case looks quite good to me. Congrats on getting one with strong lugs. Not over polished.
Whats the holiday inn joke seen a few times on here just curious
