How is WG devalued? The cheapest they sell for now is like $40k USD at the very lowest end of the scale. Most are in the mid 40s and meteorite dials even way more.

SS BLRO is at 18-19k. More than DOUBLE the price still.

I’m talking about how pissy the WG owners were when the SS was released. They had paid a lot for something they thought was exclusive WG.

Come on man, you can understand it's frustrating to want a white gold sports model when Rolex keeps releasing almost identical SS variants 2 years later like clockwork.
Maybe if the dial was the same...Someone who can afford WG can easily buy YG or RG if they wanted a piece that stood out more. As many have said, those who buy WG generally buy for themselves or because of dial/color configurations.

Like the buyer who prefers the GT3 touring over the GT3. There are many that prefer the subtlety.

If there was one thing yesterday that I would have told you I am 100% certain about, its that they wouldn't do this. Completely baffling to me.

So if we talk about benefit, sell more ss pepsi now > "devalue" wg pepsi

Seems not a bad thing for the company's point of view.

They paid alot for the acutally stuff (wg), but you focus on the appearance, if you feel "exclusive" only because of the outer "factor" but not inner, then you should feel upset about that.

WG Meteorite owner here - has no effect on me. Can’t get meteorite on the SS. I would however be super upset if I had a WG black dial.

Basically. I dont think the folks that buy the WG pieces care.

I myself would never buy WG for this reason but again I dont think that demo is too concerned with what Rolex does with SS.

Take another example, someone may work so hard save a lot money struggle whole life to buy his dream car, then enjoys it so much, but another person is a billionaire, just use few seconds to decide to buy the same car and even dont care about it.

If you are the first person, will you still enjoy, or feel upset about your dream car?

Thoroughly enjoying this on the wrist as we speak.

Doesn’t bother me at all.

I don’t think the watch cares either. Here it is hanging out with its more colorful siblings.

Cheers.

Agree.
If someone care too much how other people think and how they look at your watch, it's really a pain.
But that's the pain you create yourself.

Cheers.

I’d be more pissed that the current bezels are more red and blue than the pink and lilac of the earlier WG ones were, than being concerned about someone mistaking my watch for a cheaper, lighter, SS version to be honest

People who buy WG watches don’t buy them to be noticed.

Most people who don’t buy watches to be noticed won’t care a cheaper version is available.

I am not sure what all the fuzz is about.

Attaching an Oyster bracelet to a 126710BLRO was not a problem before today's announcement either.

Our buddy Mike (Kilyung) 'left' the forum when they screwed WG owners with the SS Skydweller if I'm not mistaken. I remember him saying he'd never buy a WG Rolex again, and coming from someone with a large PM collection like him it speaks volume. I miss his posts here and I think WG owners don't like this kind of move from Rolex, or even agree with the excuse that the owner knows what he has etc. Some get really pissed and I agree with them.

WG is actually only available in blue now anyway. Old Black dials can be changed to blue at the owners discretion if they please.
