Congratulations. It's a great watch and one of the last built of the 11 series.

Congrats and enjoy! The 40mm is better than the 41 IMHO, so I wouldn't fret about not getting a 41.

Congrats on your iconic sub. I would take the 40m anytime over the 41m plus combo purchase. Doesn't make any sense to pay more to get the 41m.

Consider yourself lucky and that you dodged a bullet. Your AD did you a favor. The 40mm is a much better looking watch with the tried and true 3135. The 41mm and 3235 are the product of cost cutting.
Best of all the 40 mm had been discontinued. |

All these 3135 lovers clearly don’t understand watch movements.

Definitely congrats because, in the end, you got a sub at retail from an AD which seems to be quite a feat these days.
But you have to marvel at being sold a previous model. Can you imagine if Apple did that “we don’t have the iPhone 12 but we can sell you the 10”. I know I know, not a comparison but still

Big congrats. Don't get bitter about this AD screw them for their overt lack of class. You got a sweet watch.
Jesus I still can't believe there are wait-lists for submariners. That existed 3 years ago?! |

I feel the 3235 has not been tried and tested in my opinion.....I also feel that is should be a different caliber (dj41 has the same caliber ). I feel weird with a dj41 and now have a sub with the same engine |

To wait more than a year for a black sub is unacceptable. Time to get a new AD and warn others NOT to purchase from your original AD via reviews.

Sorry about the subpar experience. Make sure not to let that sour your experience and relationship with your new sub. It's a beautiful piece and every bit as awesome as its 41mm counterpart.

Congrats OP! Personally I'd be quite happy getting the Sub at retail! If you really like the 126 better, just trade it in to a grey dealer and get the 41mm. Should not be that much of a difference considering your 116 is basically new and one of the very last to be sold directly by an AD.

love how 40mm owners diss on the 41mm ....
they are both different, no need for bitterness I have both and enjoy the 41 better, dial feels cleaner, case flows better, and 70h power reserve is perfect. the 40mm is a bit better in the bracelet feel ( 20/21mm), and the funny square lugs. thats about it...

Could be that Rolex had some leftover cases and movements and decided to push them out to the AD. That's how I got my LN GMT new from my AD in October 2020. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
