Explorer II would be a closer match. Even then, the GMT would gather more votes.

I'm lucky to have both these. Many would think the Explorer is a 'lesser' watch, an entry level watch, including myself when I bought it. But honestly its classic and simple design has really grown on me and it has become my favorite watch. Not my most expensive or valuable, but my favorite. I just don't have a single negative thing to say about it. Simple, comfortable, classic, elegant... never going to part with it. I'm glad I got the 39mm version.
