Big congrats! Tried it in Athens boutique recently and was really impressed. Price is more than appropriate given its PM and in house chrono. Kevlar strap gives it perfect final touch, definitely home run for AP and code line…

I tried on the Code in WG today with the black kevlar band. I think that this watch is beautiful and was excited to have the opportunity to try it on. Question is, is this the available alternative to the wg daytona oysterflex? This daytona is my grail watch, and I am tired of the Rolex game. What is the consensus opinion of one vs. the other?

Thanks all! Much appreciated Quote:
I think what's pulling people back from getting the code is 1) The price point. I know of a few people that would jump right in if the Chrono is priced at mid - to high 40k+SGD, about 30KUSD /low40k USD but feels that it is currently overpriced, but if you see the market, it is priced very competitively for a chrono with an inhouse movement 2) The infamous dial face, which if you are just comparing face to face then the WG daytona does have one up argubably, but the code has so much beautiful details at the side, the double sapphire crystal case, the back, the movement etc, and it's 2nd and 3rd gen are a big improvement and makes one look forward what will be the next iteration For me, i wasn't able to get the WG Daytona at retail, and the after market price would be similar or slightly higher than this ceramic code, so it's easy decision for me to get the code new at boutique. If i have the chance, i would get both at retail that is if i do not own any Daytona. The observation i have with the daytonas is after looking at my mate's army of daytonas in different pms, steel, bracelet and strap, is the build quality is just different and below AP. The only grail that I think would be the platinum ice blue one. At the price point of the WG Daytona, a good other alternative which i am looking at that is a non chrono imo would be the dual time VC 7900V - that comes in easy interchangeable straps (rubber and leather). It's a beautiful watch that is like 3 in 1, and it's still possible to get this at retail |

Appreciate your feedback , very good points. And I 100% agree with you at $30k USD this would be creating more purchases, if it was that price i would have made the purchase at the boutique yesterday, even if it was not the ceramic model. Yes, the VC is very nice as well in this category, but to your point the details on the code that cannot be seen in photos really make this piece special. Beautiful watch, wear it in good health! |

Good summary rtanjaya. I arrived at very similar thoughts.
