Absolutely nothing wrong with Omega and arguably is a tad up on Rolex. Not the other way around. But Rolex value appreciation seems to be the paramount
consideration to so many buyers today. That is what it is, but does not in and of itself, mean Rolex is crafted any better than Omega. |

If you really want the submariner, an omega or whatever other watch probably won’t scratch the itch. Since you bought a speedmaster, not a sea master, that just means if you get the call or the market gets back to normal, you can still get the submariner!

Luke - in this market, almost everybody (I'm excepting those who have preferred status with ADs) who can avoid setting their sites on a Rolex should do so. In your case it sounds like you had an interest, but were quickly turned off and able to find something else which interested you just as much. Consider yourself lucky. For some of us, the lust for certain models is so intense that we'd rather pay 2x or have nothing if we can't have exactly the one we want. |
