It's your watch and your call, but IMHO a brushed finish still looks very good as it wears and scratches and it is one of the primary advantages of having a brushed finish. Brushed finishes are also generally pretty easy to restore.

Additionally, an advantage of bare stainless is the sanitary aspect given its ease of cleaning and disinfection. If the watch is covered in fish guts, being able to spray it in peroxide is really nice. You could theoretically do this with a film on the watch, but it would probably be quite yucky.

If you wondering about it, you are probably the type that would feel safer having the protection for whatever your reasons.

I own a 5 digit sub, a 5 digit gmt and a 6 digit two tone sub. I have protective film on the two tone because i hate seeing scratches and its the first watch that i purchased new from an AD so I wanted to protect it. I personally like the film. Its been 2 years and still looks great.

If it starts to peel i will just order a new set because I enjoy the piece of mind. Wear your watch how you like and if it makes you happy don't worry about what others think.

When i pick up my next new Rolex from the AD I will get set for it too.

I only notice scratches upon initial inspection of the watch and before listing it for sale.
Anything that happens in between is invisible and thank god. Got enough things to worey about already.

But yeah, no stickers.
Also, cant compare watches to phones, phone case protects your phone from cracking when dropped.

Also isnt it $100-200 to polish the watch if it gets that bad that scratches end up bothering you. Why spend that on stickers.

God give me strength, with today's Rolex wearers with special crystal buff clothes, special Rolex shampoo, special watch resting cloths plastic sticker protectors. Please Rolex bring back the tool watches, and wearers of yester past years.According to many on the net you can never be overly paranoid with Rolex watches as they are quite fragile if you wear them or take them out of the box, that's what some posts seem to portray on forum lately.Below these ultimate Rolex watch protectors will protect your watch from the harmful rays from the moon, and the ultraviolet radiation from the sun, if you dare taking your Rolex out of its box and going outdoors. And will further protect it from very harmful specks of dust and god forbid any finger marks on case or crystal. This product has taken many years of development and uses the finest products known to man.The Officially Certified polychloroprene Neoprene take 12 months to manufacture just like your Rolex watch. This combined with the super new ding lock patented material gives ultimate protection for your Rolex. They have just brought out another product made from the same Certified polychloroprene Neoprene to protect the Rolex box with special compartments for all the bits of sticky back plastic and other plastic bits. These box/watch protectors have been fully tested by NASA and will be used on the next mission to the moon. Now available in all the colours of the rainbow, plus any colour of your choice, just ask the special customisation dept.As for warranty its been tested to 10000 years so it should last a lifetime if normal routine service has been applied.

So here you are guys, crystal, scratch, theft, and super soft watch, and wrist protection for your Rolex. A bit naff looking but what Super protection, for already one of the toughest made watches on this planet today.Made from 4mm super super soft high density COSC tested, 100% Superlative Officially Certified polychloroprene Neoprene and no I will not tell you where you can buy them so don't ask.A Rolex is for life and wearing and don't need any sort of pampering except soap and water and routine service.

Hell yes, I buy a watch to wear, it goes on my wrist, my wrist will be in contact with a desk, a table, a key board and many many other objects during the day, it is going to get scratched.

If you don’t want to scratch your watch put it in a safe and never wear it.

Watches are designed to be worn as a result they get scratched.

I use the Invisilab PPF on my PM pieces just as an extra safeguard and to limit the amount of polishing I may ever have to do. As far as I'm concerned I rate these qutie highly and would happily recommend, laser cut and many to apply, but once done they do blend in quite easy. Yes I has an issue with lifting on the corners from the first batch - I contacted them with some design tweaks they may wish to make, but they sent me a fresh set so can't say fairer. I since reapplied the two offending pieces with my own learnings and all is well.

I'm not too precious about scratches, but where it's a sensible precaution then I don't see people's beef. These watches are serious allocations of money and yes, I want mine looking as good as possible for as long as possible.

If you are really serious about avoiding scratches on your Rolex while wearing it, you might want to consider the Jocke patented Rolex Scratch Protector.

I messed up application the first time and they sent me a new set fee. I put it on the clasp and sides. Nothing with a brushed finish though.

You’ll find a lot of people here tend to look at beating up watches as a source of pride.

I personally am not that wealthy and want my watches looking good as long as I can.

I tried the one for AP but it took away from the brushed finish so didn’t keep it on.

Guys guys please don't post these pictures.... It infuriates many of the users on here, not because they are necessarily against it, but because of damage caused to their jewelry timepiece that they cannot reverse, and now they have to convince themselves that there is something wrong with what you are doing or that they have to convince themselves that they are happy about their damaged jewelry, or SCAR marks, that it builds character, or better yet memories or that they are magically going to have Rolex service center refinish the watch without any sign or traceable change to the factory finish or sharp corners/edges.

Well, here is one. PCL looking REEEEEAL clean!!!!!

Sounds like you're coping for being super OCD over your abhorrence for anything not pristine. Personally, I've been there and hated it. I used to obsess over keeping my first watch so perfect and I convinced myself that it was how I enjoyed my watch and it made me happy. Personally, I'm glad I'm on the other side and free to truly enjoy things now.

I can agree with the mindset of "to each their own", but you have to admit you hold the unpopular preference in this case, and it likely has nothing to do with others justifying scratches to themselves.

Your post kind of lends credibility to an argument that suggests you are insecure about your unpopular preference. It's ok to prefer something that most don't, no need try to get into the mindset of the majority that prefers the opposite and suggest some sort of mental gymnastics is at play.

I hope you truly enjoy your watches stickered up. No judgement here. Just own the unpopular position and accept that it probably leans on the ridiculous side just a bit to most people, which is ok. Lots of what many of us do seems ridiculous to the majority of onlookers.

You're wrong --- sorry that you attempted but failed to keep your jewelry in pristine condition...I get it. Not all of my timepieces are in almost perfect condition, I have some beaters myself.

You know the beauty of all of this? That I have relaxed a lot and wear many of my watches every single day. The thing is that these protectors protected against desk dives and other damage.

I really love it.... And I thought my post makes it quite clear that the majority is clearly against it and makes fun of it. There is no denying that. There are a lot of people catching on, however.

I was throwing shade tacos that pass judgment, with damaged jewelry, that have no regard or little regard regarding the condition of their watches, or somehow take a peculiar pride in beating their watches.

One last thing ... I definitely do not have OCD about a lot of things, I'm chill when it comes to cars, when it comes to most other personal possessions. I am OCD about these beautiful shiny jewelry timepieces that I wear everyday, stare at multiple times a day, and adore. I'm obsessed and have been for quite a few years. I have been to watches since I was a little kid, before my dad gave you my first rolex. I've been into a mechanical watches for a couple of decades, I used to buy them overseas from Asia, and I would have an assortment of different styles and colors. This is not a new thing my love.

Enjoy brother

Perhaps holding the view towards your rolex as primarily "jewelry" is why you feel so protective of their condition. Also, you just admitted you are OCD about how beautiful it is, while others might not be so anal about condition. I don't share your view, but I do appreciate your opinion on it. No need to apologize that I finally let loose with my obsession to keep it pristine, but truly I am happier! :)

I'm glad you enjoy them with stickers and I'm willing to accept you truly do. However, you must also be willing to accept that others just don't care about marking up their watch. Or, at least not enough to put protective stickers on them I suppose.

Well said.

When I'm retorting against people spewing judgment against me and some of the other members who enjoy pristine condition watches and place protective stickers.

I truly honest to God cringe when I see the way some of the members treat their timepieces. It's almost on purpose, like they were about your pride beating these shiny timepieces that should be looked after. The same people say quite strange and peculiar things like, these are memories, it gives it character, etc.

I'll tell you what, pick 5,000 people who want to take over a watch, the overwhelming majority or probably almost all of them would take over my timepieces, including those people passing judgment, but they would never want the other beaten watches.

Unfortunately, for them, none of my watches are for sale and they will never go on sale. I'll join my watches, stickers, in pristine condition, and all.

But well said by you. Be well.
