Might sound dumb but you could try holding the crown and turning the watch. Little more leverage that way.

Given that this watch is pre-owned, is it worth having the in-crown gasket checked? If the previous owner consistently tightened the crown that much, wondering if that gasket has been smashed beyond usefulness?

How does that prove that the movement is authentic?

Certainly it proves that there is a movement inside the watch but says nothing about it being a Rolex movement.

Thank you guys - I Just had this issue with my brand new watch and what worked is I put it on my other hand so I would turn it away from me - Then I was guided to take my pilo cover and use it around the crown then start turning away from me and kept at it and it untied beautifully! Hope this helps someone else in the future!
