Choosing Tudor as a daily, but which makes more sense?

Agreed, I’ve wanted the Tudor GMT but has an issue being top heavy and just way too thick.

My vote is for the BB58 Navy.

Personally, I would carry on wearing the Milgauss. Looks less like a Rolex than most Tudors anyway. If you are that concerned, I would put it on a rubber / leather / nylon strap and very few would be able to identify it as a Rolex.

Thank you all for your advice.

I think I’m leaning more toward a black bay diver in blue bezel. After thinking about it the GMT may seem a bit redundant.

Most who don’t know watches will assume a Tudor is a Rolex, so I’d go a different route if you’re trying to keep a lower profile. I’d consider a Grand Seiko. Fantastic watches and if someone asks just tell them it’s a Seiko. They don’t have to know it’s a $5k watch.

I thought it was about safety and not attracting unwanted attention. Not about only losing 3k instead of 30k.

You can still get robbed and shot because you wore a Tudor that looks like a 15k submariner. So why take the risk.

You should do what makes you feel safe. I wear a BB58 Blue when I feel weird about wearing my 16700 out. However, I should note that no one has ever said anything to me about what watch I am wearing.

Go to your AD and try them on. Great power reserve as well..

I bought and wear the BB GMT on leather a lot more as a daily. Especially when I go into downtown Chicago. I could also see a Pelagos.

I agree, but I like the "old school" look of the Tudor and it doesn't feel too large on my wrist.
I like the BB 58 too, but I do prefer having a date function.

I'm going to go against the grain here. If there is any question of "gettin stolen" Casioak is the answer. Pick your favorite colorway, and for $99-120 you have a great watch and no one else pays any attention to it.

I've been through quite a few Black Bays- the 41MM ETA, 41MM ETA Blue, then the BB58 Blue. Finally ended up with the FXD as my daily beater. Comfortable, very legible, and rugged. But can't go wrong with the BB58 Blue if you're looking for a bracelet rather than a Nato.

I’ve thought the same thing, having a “travel” watch. That’s why I picked up an SKX a couple years ago. Losing a Tudor would just make a bad situation worse.

My jewelry rider allows for up to $2.5k for any piece before they have to be individually added to my policy. So, for simplicity, Oris/higher end Seiko or the like would be my ceiling on a travel piece.

I bought the BB41 blue just before they released the BB58 Sold the 41 and bought the 58 as soon as I could and have never looked back. All I have to do is look over because I sold it to a fellow worker. So can compare them almost daily and the 58 still wins for me

I'm in the same boat as you. Thinking of either the Tudor BB 58, Pelagos FDX (If attainable from my AD) or the Tudor Royal. The Royal has really started to grow on me a lot.

My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't feel a whole lot better having a $5,000 watch stolen than I would having a $10,000 watch stolen. If you get mugged somewhere, they're probably taking your watch whether it's a Rolex, a Tudor, or a Seiko.

An SKX or a Seiko Turtle (what I bought) seems like the perfect solution.
