On a side note: I just shook my Omega SMP. And that also makes similar rattling sounds to the Daytona. That one I never dropped though. And it’s less than a year old

No “rattle” on my 116520. I can’t imagine any type of protection on a watch for day to day wear.

So many here always say "safer on the wrist". I'm starting to believe.

Is it a swirling sound from the ceramic rotor bearings? The only rattle should be the bracelet.

Too bad. I’m sure it’ll come back as good as new. Good luck!

My Omega is on a rubber strap and I’m even holding the clasp when shaking it. It’s like a soft rattle sound, exactly the same than in the Daytona. But the Omega I never dropped as far as I remember. I dropped my Hulk and Submariner before, no rattle or damage. My grey dealer said it’s the balance bridge? But why does my SMP make the same noise. You can even hear it on the voice note I sent to my grey, it’s very noticeable. But the watch runs Smoothly, Chrono works fine. Any other Panda owner that can shake his watch for me to check if it’s normal? :)

I know folks are saying hack the movement and send it in... but if you haven't, maybe wind it up and see if the power reserve and timekeeping is still good. No sense in spending $1100 to service it if it isn't broken.

Man that is terrible I’m really sorry it happened. I hope it’s a simple fix to get sorted out.

I put it back into working mode now, time keeps fine so far. It happened yday already so the watch has been running accurately since. Haven’t worn it since then either so power reserve seems fine I just got thinking during the day that I got away too unscathed with it having been such a fast, steep drop. Externally not a hint that it dropped, checked it thoroughly. Must have Landed flat on the Saphire, that’s not damaged either. Picking up another watch from a grey tomorrow, will let him have a look and give me an opinion before I go to send it in.

I learned after several close calls that the safest place is on my wrist.

I shook my 116500 and zero rattles. The sound of the rotor spinning, yes, but zero rattles.

I did the same with my Pepsi a few years ago , I destroyed it after a drunken night out by dropping it on a tile floor.
I needed a service , new bezel , dial and crystal

I did this after owning it a couple of weeks , notice it had the MK1 bezel on and they replaced it with the MK2

I notice you’re in London

I always take mine to the RSC in Kent. Brilliant service and they’ve actually fixed a couple of my “mishaps” for free.

I hear that this reference can make a loud rotor noise when moving it even when it’s not been dropped

I rather break it another time than doing that tbh. I have never even heard about cases for watches. You mind posting a wrist shot?
I’m afraid they are winding you up with this one. They’re not being serious

This is one of the reasons why I paid extra and just bought a brand new watch instead of saving some money and buying pre-owned.We never truly know the history of pre-owned watches.i know that especially withSS sport models we can't always buy off the shelf which is regrettable.hopefully it all works out fine for the member involved .

I wish I could have bought it brand new, but the Panda as a NOS would have set me back another 5k at least.

Kent is a bit far but the RSC Mayfair seems decent too. Went there once to have one of my dials checked out. They didn’t charge for that either

My 116500 doesn't rattle. I would have it checked out, why risk it by not doing so?

I once "threw" my old 16710 across the gym changing room when I forgot I'd put it on top of my gym bag and ragged the bag out of the top locker at pace, I saw something fly out over my shoulder and realised it was my watch (these were the days when they were worth less than £2k) it landed on the side of the case on the tile floor dented the case on the corner but ran perfectly with zero issues after, solid watches!

Just a pity I sold it and they want £14k for the same today.
