Very true! A little late to the AR game for sure.

They actually do mention it on the Rolex web site though...

"The hands, the triangular hour marker at 12 o’clock, as well as the 3, 6 and 9 numerals contain an optimized luminescent material. The legibility of the display is further enhanced by a crystal with an anti-reflective coating."

It’s about time. Hopefully it’ll spread to other models.

I missed this detail with the YM 42 YG too.

You have to look at the full page feature for each new model. The mention of AR is in there.

Long time Air-King fan here, checking in

We know it's not for everyone, but that's the wonderful world of watches - we all have different taste!

I have the new model on order, and I can't wait!

Air King looks very refined indeed. Any idea of the thickness?

…I don’t know where this love is coming from…especially for a reference that no one wanted before as it was hanging around every AD, I mean every AD!

Now people are desperate for any reference this is becoming the next darling. Ugh.

Just to add, I think it could be a case of a lower expection from Rolex each year.

Well, the previous version was thick, unrefined and thus looked obese in my opinion. Based on the pictures, the new one looks sporty and refined. Dial is legible, fun and quirky. Whats not to love?

I think its a great looking watch. Never been a fan of the dial but the color and new crown guards actually work really well together.

I’ve always liked the Air King as well. Maybe I should try to get on a list on the new one

Thickness = 11.59 mm, vs the old model at 13.2mm, nice!

I like it a lot more now especially with the 05. I sold my AK in 18 for an Expll but I'd like a new one back now.

I’ve always liked this watch and now that it’s slimmer, I’m sold. I did put my name on a list and they thought 2 years or so based on the list and their annual (?) allocation.

I totally agree with you guys here, it’s a very cool watch. I would love to hear from pilots that like these and find the array of numbers around the dial useful.

This is the big difference that makes this watch wearable food me now. Should be similar to an old ExpII in feeling but with more sturdy bracelet.
