Hard to say. One a year seems adequate ? Now if it goes two years, time to move on.

I bring my AD Lego

Everytime I pick up a new watch he says “what’s next?” And i’m not a high roller. Guess he likes me and the Lego. Ha.

Turning down a watch 3 weeks after you asked for it likely has more of an effect on your current situation than does the fact that your AD got you a Daytona.

There you go! Is more than just buying nowadays with ADs. Donuts, Holiday Cards, etc goes a long way!

Screw the AD, grey all the way. Buying presents and visiting them more often than a girlfriend to get a watch. And you don’t even get laid. No thanks

After purchasing my Daytona (Black dial), I was offered a SS Sky-D (Black dial) one year later.

After the Sky-D nothing, hoping for a Sub Date but not sure they'll come through (been 2 years so far), still hoping though.

I think you guys put way too much emphasis on the "AD Relationship". My experience (at that of everyone I know) has been that ADs will sell whatever they have, to whoever is standing in front of them with the cash. There is nothing "special" about them just because they sell Rolex. They have the same objective as every other retailer...to move the products they have. I think some you get that "special" feeling thinking you have a "relationship" with a retailer that sells high end watches.

This will vary by AD and customer.

My AD will, at their discretion, spread the happiness around amoung those customers who are on lists. I got my SS BLRO last October. I will get a blue Sky Dweller next. There's no way they are giving me both watches inside a year. I expect I'll be waiting for 3-4 years while others who have so far been less fortunate than me (plus the inevitable cohort of VVIPs) get their watches.

I'm not being shut down. I'm just waiting my turn again. The interval may vary by watch and demand. Given the scarcity of all Sky Dwellers because of low production numbers, I'm not expecting it to shorten in my case.

I’ve waited for a BLRO since it’s release. In the meantime I did get a SD43 in 2019. VTNR came out I stressed it’s a winner for me. It’s coming my way I’m overdue

Just bring Paulie Walnuts, Silvio, and Christopher to your AD and you’ll leave with whatever hot model you want. Piece of cake!!

I got my 116500 in July of 2020. I was able to get a dj41 in September of 21. I was also interested in a sky dweller or GMT, but didn’t think they would sell me it since I had the Daytona. Got the call for my gmt last week!

My requests were basically shot down for a solid year before they entertained the idea of getting me another SS sports watch.

There have been times I get several in the course of a few months, and times I wait a year (or more). Recently, I got the BLRO meteorite, two-weeks later blue SkyD. Then a few weeks later the SS BLRO came in and I was skipped over so someone else’s request/order could be fulfilled. If it’s been a few years since you’ve been offered something, that would be a red flag, but being offered a few a year of the difficult models is more typical, with some time in between.

I got my 116500 as a personal favor (long story). No prior history. I wouldn't even dare to ask for another allocation piece.

OP
I consider you lucky and I am jealous of your situation.
The AD’s that have me on their list have not called me and probably never will.
I guess everything is relative

Received my 116500 in October of 2020. Crickets from that AD since then.

In the end, I got a steel Daytona at retail, so I can't complain.

They know I want a skydweller and GMT - with emphasis on CHNR when I tried on multiple times.

Who else has been shut down by their AD post 116500?

I received a SS black Daytona 116500LN on December 24, 2019. The next watch I received was December 23, 2020 (364 days later) ... another SS black Daytona 116500LN (I gave the first one to my nephew for his wedding February 2020).

The next watch after my 2nd Daytona was December 10,2021 ... I received a new Cermit. Now I am on the list for a blue SkyD for me and an OP36 for my Mom.

I’m surprised to hear of the AD ghosting clients after coming through with a Daytona. I would think someone would have to be a valued client to get one, and the same client would still be in good standing for other pieces.

Looks to me like they are just trying to share the love, they have lots of existing customers and potential new customers to keep happy.
