How old are you Dave?

All from AD’s here.

I did buy a Panerai from DSW as they were sold out at the boutiques.

I bought Rolex DJ36 and Explorer II black dial on grey market because my AD don’t want to sell me anything from Rolex on retail even though I have very good purchase history in last 3 years.

Used to buy grey when they were cheaper than retail and now AD. Great is only for vintage or trades. So 3 in recent years from AD. Rest grey/vintage.

Have bought over 40 watches (assorted brands) of which about 8 were Rolex.
Only 1 watch ever, my first purchase, was from an AD - an Omega Aqua Terra

One from AD so far, waiting for two more from AD’s currently. I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t buy a WG BLRO meteor dial from grey right now if I had the cash. I know the secondary premium is nuts but if I could afford it I’d pay it for that one and a couple other pieces to not have a wait.

4 from grey when prices were less than MSRP years ago.

3 in the last year or so from grey, all over MSRP. Didn't feel like waiting.

All AD, except I had to have a 3186 Exp.II 16570. I found a naked one from a very trusted dealer. I still have it today five years later.

Sold my Hulk before the stampede, but not my Explorer. Go figure… I’m great at timing the market like that!

Over my lifetime, ~20 from AD if you include gifts.

None from a grey dealer.

3 from AD (black Sub, Hulk, Pepsi) over the last 3.5 years. 0 from grey - I can’t stomach the premium. Minimal (less than $2k) other jewelry purchases.

My three current Rolex from AD. Years ago I bought an early DSSD from grey, and a Speedmaster Hesalite when they were still cheap from grey.
