Looks totally different. See the images side by side. It’s like someone cleaned a camera lens or something to conceal identifying features. Almost blurry or something.

It's clearly a Rolex rip off with cheap gold-plated links and the fake vivets. No thanks.

There are many people who can and do enjoy it without referencing it to other watches.

Seriously, no rational person can say that this is not a clear attempt to take a hard to find Rolex and cash in on a cheap Tudor clone.

Honestly, if not for the Rolex look-a-likes, Tudor would not sell enough watches to even be relevant. The newest references are all the proof I need.

It is fact that the only references that sell for Tudor are the Daytona clones, the countless Submariner clones, the Pepsi clone that can't flip a date and now the shameless Rootbeer and 1655 rip offs.

If left to the Pelagos line, the Tudor brand would have died decades ago. It is clearly a brand trolling behind the Rolex brand picking up whatever scraps are left behind, in any economic climate.

Well alright then. Use the camera from the first image. I like that one with the cataract effect.

That's just like your opinion, man.

Btw, that quote is from Dino, not Francis Albert.

Beautiful watch! Congrats. Ignore the Tudor haters. This is one great watch. I want one. Someday soon I think …

Are there other brands that make only one line of watches and survive with similar production numbers? I’ll help, there isn’t.

Rolex continues to build the same stuff over and over again. Tudor is the only member of the family making new watches. Rolex hasn’t made an original since the sky dweller (2012). They resize old models, and have been relatively boring for a long time. At least Tudor is doing something fun.

My opinion is that you should step out of the Rolex bubble for a little bit.

And that Tudor has a significant following that does not view the brand or its designs through a Rolex lens.

Of course, agree to disagree applies here by default.

Something fun? They copy the best selling Rolex watches. That is not fun.

Since somewhat copying the Blancpain Fifty many decades ago, Rolex has been on the cutting edge of innovation and, the most copied brand ever.

Tudor exits now simply to sell clones of the most popular Rolex references.

I’ve bought and owned many many Rolexes. Many. Tudor is an amazing brand borne of the same ethos and founder as Rolex and doing stuff these days that is amazing. I too used to be a hater, ‘oh Tudor’s just the lame cousin.’ Then bought my first Tudor this year — sterling bb58. I don’t see Rolex stepping out making a silver watch. It is a sick watch and has quickly become my go to daily wear for everything from the ocean to MTB. Tudor has its own history and stand alone quality and value. I’ll be buying a bb pro shortly. A much higher value proposition than Rolex (which of course on the next forum up some call ‘the poor man’s Patek or FPJ or AP’).

But Rolex doesn't blatantly clone AP or Patek so your comparison falls quite a bit short.
.
Look. Tudor does have it's own history. They were bought buy Rolex and for a time had Rolex parts on their clone watches. Now they exist to sell replica watches under the Rolex umbrella. Great marketing, I guess.

Aside from the first “bad pic”, the watch looks much better here than in the press photos I’ve seen.

You certainly have very strong feelings about this.

Me? I just love Watches and rapping with others who share The excitement about them, like OP. it’s difficult for me to come up with a passionate dislike, like you’ve expressed about Tudor, for any automatic or mechanical watch. I mean, they’re watches and are all cool in different ways. But hey man, enjoy the passionate disdain!

Tudor wasn't bought by Rolex. Tudor was and is being made by Rolex.
In fact, someone could go as far as to say that Tudor is another line of Rolex. If anyone is fully entitled to use Rolex design language, that's Tudor. In that sense, none of their offerings is a knock off. It's all heritage, in the purest form.
