i would have brought this issue up with my AD and would expect them to make it right somehow before sending it to RSC if it was like this the day you bought it

What would/wouldn't be worth it would likely depend on whether it was a true smudge (paint imperfection, scratch, etc.) or dust/lume fleck. The latter would make me more concerned since anything loose that's that small could theoretically get down into the movement and cause problems.

For those following, Rolex basically accepts the dial smudge acceptable within their standards it seems and won't replace the dial but did clean it. I can't notice it anymore so that's a plus. I did get all the dust removed by the AD though, didn't have to send it back to RSC!
