Rose Gold Daytona w/ Chocolate Dial - talk me out of it

I think it’ll fit in really well with you collection.

It’s a beautiful watch that’ll look great with formal and casual wear.

For those that have/ had it, how does the watch wear, specially with an OF bracelet? Some of the pictures I’ve seen online indicate some amount of space between the wrist and the OF bracelet due to the presence of the ridges (?) on the underside of the bracelet. Make the entire watch seem “baloony” and slightly I’ll fitting. The watch also seems to wear substantially larger than it’s 40mm size would indicate. Any real like experiences to share on wearability? While the OF gives it an air of casual, would it be equally at home with office wear for instance (I usually wear long sleeve shirts, cuff links, formal trousers and shoes to work, no tie)?

How legible is the watch? The dial looks quite busy. And do you miss not having a date?

While not a seller/ flipper, I do like my watches to hold their value in the hope that they will eventually be passed on to my son. How would a PM Rolex fare in this regard, as PM watches have generally fewer takers than SS ones and are therefore less popular perhaps?

My current collection consists of a 39mm SS Explorer 1, a 42mm SS GP Laureato with blue dial and a 39mm RG ALS 1815 up/ down. The Laureato is currently my daily wearer to work. The ALS for when I need to wear a suit etc. and the Explorer mostly for weekends and running errands.

Please note that I have yet to see and try the watch in person and am hoping to get some opinions before I do so.

Managed to try two versions - the rose gold with black dial and champagne sub dials and the yellow gold with black dial and yellow sub dials.

The yellow gold really pops! Chocolate dial wasn’t available unfortunately.

I’m weird, I like the oyster flex rose Daytonas more than the gold bracelet models. If money is no object and you like Daytonas, I’d take the piece.

It may also move you up in the “good” list with your AD for future ventures. That being said, never purchase a piece that doesn’t speak to you.

Oysterflex is so comfortable, the gold gives heft up top but still very manageable. Can wear casual/sport or dress and the chocolate is amazing. Do it.

Or the traditional gold bezel ? I would love for Rolex to add the ceramic bezel on the full RG Daytonas.

If they had the black bezel on the full rose gold Daytona I would have preferred that as you can always get aftermarket leather or rubber straps, and the delta in cost is worth it imo to get a full gold bracelet.

I was just offered a RG Daytona/gold bracelet with the black/pink dial. Went in and tried it on and passed on it.

I think the gold bracelet adds too much to a sports watch and distracts from the dial. Quite like the contrast the OF bracelets provide but I’m apprehensive about getting a good fit.

I have my reservations about a rubber bracelet but I do agree that it does give good contrast to the rose gold.

Here are a couple of pictures of what I had on.

Going to be the enabler and say that the RG is by far my favorite Daytona. But the bracelet is a must for me.

A stunning Daytona and one of the best in the line up in my opinion. Your right to be cautious though as it’s got to sing to you to be a keeper.

I also had my doubts about the OF and wasn’t really looking for a modern Daytona. My AD offered the watch to me a few weeks ago and I went to see the watch.

After trying it on I didn’t hesitate and right away decided to take the watch.

Have been wearing it since I got it and must say I really like the OF. It’s comfortable, more casual and combines really well with the gold of the watch.

I would definitely go for it. Would be surprised if you would not like it.

You won't find many people talking you out of that stunner, especially with the OF band which is my personal PM Daytona favorite combo of the lot. Do it before someone else beats you to the punch!

Rose Gold Daytona w/ Chocolate Dial - talk me out of it

Can’t talk you out of it. If you love rose gold, that’s a stunner. Also love WG steel dial and a couple of the YG versions, panda and reverse (PN).

It’s the best oysterflex daytona configuration if you ask me. Both with indexes or arabic numerals.
