When I was younger I would have been all over that. While I would still love to be trained up, I would do it as a hobby and service watches (wouldn't have to be Rolex specific) primarily my own maybe a friend's watch. That way it's less stressful if I so happen to not be 100% perfect.

I would need to work on my patience, eyesight and steadiness. I would also need to hone my organizational skills to be able to remove, place, sort and replace parts in the same order.

When I lived in Seattle, I entertained doing the watchmaker program. Ultimately, it was too involved; essentially a full time commitment, which I couldn't fit in around my work schedule.

But where would you get your parts?
And how about dealing with the public that will want to tear strips off you if the work isn't done to their complete satisfaction and threaten to take you to court

Just my type of job, degunking other peoples crud from their watches. I'd rather clean teeth.

Would love to try it, but I'd probably get fired for damaging so many watch hands. Not easy to put on watch hands.

Maybe for discounts on watches.

Right out of college, I was managing Chicken Restaurants...I didn't eat chicken for several years.
I was a US Treasury Agent working in the Federal Reserve system, spent so much time around large amounts of money, it meant nothing.

I would hate to feel that way about Rolex!

My fat fingers have trouble on my iPhone. I have nothing but massive respect for watchmakers/technicians/artisans.

My friend is one. He said that sometimes, women flock him, thinking that they can get an allocation!

I would totally do this if I were younger. I was a ship model builder years ago so I already enjoyed precision on a tiny scale but watch making is way more precise and even more tiny…

I remember how long it took me to reinstall the battery cover retaining screw on my OysterQuartz (after I found it).

Not for me.

And I am not a fan of jigsaw puzzles.
