You know, I am not too concerned with purchasing a Genuine Rolex,as I know several people who could very easily obtain these for me. No offense it is IMO a waste of money. I could own a Timex as far as I am concerned...as long as it keeps time, I'll be just fine.

I would be more than happy to stick around though and discuss as well as learn something of these watches as if I were to come across one...I would sell it with no hesitation!!

Totally agree about the toys.....I have posted this before but here it is again....it is a funny story even if I say so myself....

I was once severely verbally accused of being an idiot with my money for buying a Rolex watch by a (not very well liked) guy who I worked with, it shocked a lot of the folk around the office which was pretty small, only around 12 or 15 of us there. I took the attack on the chin and didn't put up much of a fight, but what I did do was explain essentially what is quoted above. I also proceeded to try and get the guy's confidence and try and find out what his 'vice' was. Unbeknown to him the whole office was listening in on our conversation which had gone pretty quiet and what he assumed was now a one to one. Eventually he admitted that if he came into big money he would buy this very special train set made in Germany which was very rare and very expensive. You can imagine, the office errupted in laughter.....all except me....I just sat with a smug grin on my face happy in the knowledge that this idiot had been tricked by his own tongue.....that happened in November 1990 and I have never forgotten it, neither have some of the guys I worked with back then....it's sometimes brought up when we meet up every once in a while....

people spend so much on things they could live without - it is uncomprehensible
why people smoke - it is bad for health (and to others), stinks, costs money etc
stop smoking and then move to Rolex
examples are many

Real Rolex watches rarely end up in 300 USD lots , I have stopped believing in Santa Claus a long time ago.

People spend their money on what they want , women , drugs or Rolex watches . The latter you can leave to your next of kin when you croak it and they will gain in value .

I agree Stanislav 100%. Problem is, people will do what they want to do and many times, logic dpesn't come into it. I have a colleague who wears fake watches and used to laugh at my paying thousands of dollars for real watches, until I pointed out to him that a pack of cigarettes now costs about US$7.50 in Singapore, which for someone who smokes a pack a day works out to US$2,740 a year. I told him if he stopped smoking, he could easily afford a brand-new Air King in a little over a year. He saw the sense in this, but carried on smoking - though he did stop laughing at my purchases.

In 3 years since, he's now suffered 2 heart attacks and spent around US$10,000 on medical bills - but still smokes.

PS And he still wears fakes.

Tha can't get owt fer nowt .
I spent 18 months up that neck of the woods when madly in love with a local lass. ( she was from Kirklington next to Bedale , north hallerton )
We lived in Green Hallerton ( Harrogate)
great and friendly people , had a job understanding some of them in the beginning. Winters far to long and wet .

Ok.....so why do have a pic of this replica as your avatar, and list "Rolex Explorer II" as your watch? You clearly had some pride of ownership for a little while.

I hope you got something else for your $300.

Since we've deemed this a fake, maybe it should go to the watchout section.

Hi Askari,

Welcome to TRF

Like the guys say, she's a fake, the markings on the dial give this watch a multiple personality, The bracelet ref number is from the newer Yachtmaster oyster bracelet, I can't make out the clasp ref number, but I think we have enough to say its a fake. I can guarantee you will see a cheaper movement, at best a Swiss eta with Rolex stamped on the rotor, or something like this -

If your happy with the watch that is great, but a friendly word of advice, don't openly advertise you have a counterfeit Rolex in you avatar or in general, its fairly frowned upon, the guys up until now have been fairly friendly.

Dave.

...This just doesn't add up. Rolex avatar; watch described as Expy II screen name has Rolex...and not concerned about Rolex?! Waste of money Would sell one with no hesitation?

Hope I'm wrong but this seems like a fishing expedition searching for some sort of authentication of the watch, IMO

Agreed, and this fishing exploration resulted in a FAIL I certainly hope we do not see these photos floating around the traps for sale.

Time to change the avatar and watch, before one of our most gracious mods happen to wander in atlantarolexj, thats a second friendly reminder!

Who cares? Would I die if they did that? As far as the avatar, I actually do graphic design and it was something funky to experiment with. Never represented the watch as for sale or genuine sooo....how do you get fishing? Topic post is REAL or FAKE (a question if you didn't realize). I don't want any trouble here dude behind this I am sure this is not the first copy seen here my GOD!!!!!!!!!!

Put it in whatever section you want dude!! I did not once ask anyone to purchase this watch. It was the watch in question so what pic was I supposed to use? You tell me!! And for your information...yes I received a lot more in the storage unit in which this was found, just to solve your curiosity. And I am still proud of the watch because it does tell time...

Your watch is a fake and is a trademark infringement. So thus, it is illegal and should not be worn proudly, much less depicted or displayed in your avatar or on this forum once it was determined it was a fake.
